FRA: Le Plat Provençal

Fresh suppions of the port city!

On one of the days in Marseille, my friends and I dined at a restaurant near our hostel. It was indeed the first time the word suppions passed through my ears. Apparently it's a type of edible cuttlefish which is small in size as you can see in the photo below.

Suppions à l'Armoricaine €10.00 (~S$17.40)
Taste: 7.5/10

Nope, I didn't order this dish, but my friend gladly shared her food. And yes, some people were really excited to see rice on the plate haha... The suppions were really fresh! Soft and crunchy at the same time, they went well with the rice and the tomato sauce although I felt that they used too much oil. Also, too bad the salad was stale. Otherwise, I'd have given it 8.5/10.

Entrecôte Marseillaise €8.40 (~S$14.60)
Taste: 6.5/10

I ordered this dish simply because of the word Marseillaise because I thought it would be special. But honestly, there was nothing much to say about the dish as it was just like any regular grilled beef. The highlight of the dish was the fries which were crispy on the outside but soft and airy inside without being soggy. The salad, likewise, was stale.

Bread

The bread was so-so. Well, at least it wasn't hard.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7/10
Ambience: 7/10
Service: 8/10
Overall: 7.5/10

Although the food wasn't that exceptional, the waiter was friendly and he could speak English well. Service was prompt too! Pika's advice: I have nothing much to say actually, but you can ask for salt, pepper, tomato ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard haha...
