THA: First Hotel [Breakfast]

Braised soy sauce egg so fragrant!

First Hotel (3*) is more or less a self-contained hotel with a few restaurants, travel agencies and even a hair salon. Located within walking distance to the BTS Ratchathewi station, it has two buildings: the Main Wing and the newer Tower Wing.

I actually booked a Standard Main Wing room, but I was told that the rooms were fully occupied. As such, I was given a free upgrade to a Superior Tower Wing room. Lucky! :)

Salad

The vegetables were fresh, and I enjoyed the tomatoes which were juicy. Mayonnaise and Thousand Island dressing were provided.

Assorted Stuff #1

I guess there's nothing much for me to describe here, but anyway, the meat stuff weren't too salty. The bacon wasn't crispy, but I enjoyed eating it with the french toast which wasn't sickeningly soggy.

Assorted Stuff #2

The muffin didn't have any special taste; in fact, it was kinda plain and a bit sweet. Well, the best was the toast, eaten with unsalted butter and pineapple jam.

Assorted Stuff #3

The fried rice wasn't really flavourful. Most of the cooked items were average, and the sliced fish wasn't fresh, judging from the meat which wasn't firm at all. However, the braised soy sauce egg was really good. The soy sauce penetrated well into the egg, and the aroma of star anise was appetising. Pika's advice: I couldn't help but notice that the other day that the cooked items weren't replenished very frequently. Do grab the eggs before they run out!

Porridge

A bowl of disappointment would be the phrase to describe the porridge. Not only it was way too watery, its accompaniments weren't delectable either. Okay, this is probably one of the rarest times I'm saying this, but I couldn't bring myself to finish the porridge.

Fruit Salad & Banana

Since the fruit slices available didn't look very fresh, I decided to have a bowl of fruit salad to help fulfil my daily needs of fruits. Soaked in orange juice, it was cool and refreshing. The banana was small, but sweet.

Pineapple, Orange & Guava Cordial Drink

All of them weren't overly sweet. In my opinion, the orange flavour was the best. Well, I only took a sip of the guava cordial drink, you know why.

Milk

My breakfast ended with a glass of milk that was pretty creamy.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 6/10
Ambience: 7/10
Overall: 6.5/10

Apart from the porridge and the yummy braised soy sauce egg, everything else was, in general, average in terms of taste.
