THA: Louis' Tavern CIP Lounge (Near Gate G2) @ Suvarnabhumi Airport

There's always a queue at the automatic pancake machine!

After an overnight stay at a hotel that we didn't book at, my BFF and I found ourselves back at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. More details as to what exactly happened will be in my travel blog some time in the near future. Prior to flying with Hong Kong Airlines again, we visited one of the six Louis' Tavern CIP Lounges.

CAM: Cambodia Angkor Air [Economy, International, Short-Haul]

Simple snacks, but better than nothing for a 70-minute flight~

Flying with a carrier that I'd never experienced before has always made me excited. Even though it was only a short flight from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Bangkok, Thailand, I did value the experience with the national carrier of Cambodia. It was nice to be offered a snack box.

CAM: The Sugar Palm

Tasty stir-fried squid slices with green Kampot peppercorns!

Our last meal in Siem Reap, Cambodia was at The Sugar Palm. Owned by Chef Kethana who escaped the country during the troubled times of the late 1970s and has since returned to revive traditional Khmer cooking skills, the restaurant serves delicious homely food.

CAM: Lucky Burger

Guess what that purplish sauce on the burger was? :P

After eating snacks here and there in the late afternoon, my BFF and I weren't too hungry. As such, we decided to have a simple meal at the local burger joint inside Lucky Mall. Since we were there in December, we decided to try the limited edition Christmas burger.

CAM: Khmer Kitchen

Such a refreshing fish soup that perked me up!

If you're looking for a nice Cambodian meal that won't burn a hole in your wallet, you should place Khmer Kitchen on your radar. Used to be a hole-in-the-wall eatery, the restaurant has since grown in business, serving unpretentious local fare near the ever-happening Pub Street.

CAM: Café Indochine

Served in a colonial building, Khmer cuisine fit for royalty?

Known as one of the longest running restaurants in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Café Indochine is housed in a colonial building. It's said to focus on "romantic dining with a focus on Royal Khmer cuisine", although I wasn't having a romantic dinner since I was with my BFF. Haha...

CAM: Khmer Village Restaurant

Addictive peanuts, but 0/10 for dessert... :(

My BFF and I dedicated one day to explore the massive Angkor Archaeological Park where the world's largest religious monument is standing on. For lunch, our tuk-tuk driver brought us to Khmer Village Restaurant situated within the park itself.

CAM: Treasure Oasis Hotel [Breakfast]

Free-flow of delicious, heart-warming fish congee!

A relatively new player in the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia, I stayed at Treasure Oasis Hotel (4*) due to the good reviews seen online, even though it's situated just a little bit outside the city centre. The availability of swimming pool and gym is another reason why I chose the hotel for my 4D3N stay.

CAM: The Red Piano Restaurant

Famous pork cordon bleu and Tomb Raider cocktail!

I found myself back in Cambodia, albeit in a different city of Siem Reap, exactly one week after the end of the Overseas Community Involvement Project trip to Phnom Penh. For our first day dinner, my BFF and I patronised one of the well-known restaurants that's located at the bustling Pub Street.

LAO: Lao Airlines [Economy, International, Short-Haul]

A box of sweet and savoury snacks with some cut fruits onboard!

I'd never really paid attention to Lao Airlines until the moment I planned for my December holiday last year, partly due to the fact that there aren't many advertisements of the airline in Singapore. How long ago did you have a meal box onboard, or have you ever had one before?

LAO: Café @ Luang Prabang International Airport

Enjoing pretty good, but oily stir-fried pork before flying off~

It was almost time to say goodbye to Luang Prabang, Laos, although I wasn't ready to do so. As my BFF and I still had a few notes of the local currency, we decided to spend them all at the nameless café that can be found right after passing through the security screening area.

LAO: Luang Prabang Night Market

Fresh, flavourful grilled fish that's easy on the wallet!

Everyday before sunset when the weather is good, vendors set up their stalls along Sisavangvong Road in Luang Prabang, Laos, to make the night market happen from around 5.00pm to 11.00pm. During my 4D3N stay there, I dropped by the market every evening without fail after having dinner.

Have You Tried KFC's Chizza?

"All Chicken. No Crust. Ultimate Mash-Up." Sounds intriguing, doesn't it? Here's a picture of the chicken and pizza hybrid that I got inside the box. There are lots of comments online about appearance in advertisements versus reality.

Honestly, I found it to be just slightly more palatable than the very sinful Double Down, but I wouldn't regret not eating it. Anyway, I was sharing it with a friend since I'd never had the intention to finish it by myself.

Have a nice meal,
Cliff(y)
