BEL: Belavia [Economy, International, Short-Haul]

Image
Chicken roll filling that reminded me of Indonesian 'lemper ayam'~ Have you flown with Belavia Belarusian Airlines before? I was certainly thankful for the opportunity to visit the country that's very closely linked to Russia, even though I haven't been to the latter. Today's post features two different meals on two separate flights.

SIN: The Wild Restaurant

Image
Yummy chicken with aromatic pesto sauce and a dash of lemon! Have you been to a small shopping mall called Westway before? It's located across the road where Haw Par Villa is. One fine afternoon after a relaxing stroll at the park formerly known as the Tiger Balm Garden, I had a lunch with a friend of mine at The Wild Restaurant at Westway.

SIN: Caffé B

Image
A beautiful marriage between smoked salmon and Asian pear! Caffé B prides itself in serving Italian cuisine with accents of Japanese ingredients. I recall the restaurant used to operate at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, but it has since moved to Club Street that's not far from Telok Ayer MRT station.

SIN: Yam's Kitchen

Image
Savoury, silky soya beancurd! Yam's Kitchen started off with a humble beginning as a food stall in 2011. The founder and executive chef Kelvin Yam has accumulated more than 20 years of experience in the kitchen and is the treasurer of the Singapore Huo Yow Cooks’ Association at the point of writing.

SIN: 5 Drunken Rabbits

Image
Mouth-watering rosemary chicken with mushroom sauce! Situated within a serene vicinity of Pasir Ris Park, 5 Drunken Rabbits is open all year round, including on public holidays. Having been in operation since April 2012, the bistro is a great chill out place with a decent selection of food and beverages. Does anyone know the story behind the name of the bistro?

SIN: Chic-a-Boo Fried Chicken {Lunar New Year 2018}

Image
Fried chicken with some Astons' sides! On the third day of Chinese New Year, Simon says, "Let's take a break from posting stuff related to the December 2017 trip." Chic-a-Boo Fried Chicken is a brand under Astons , with the branch at Marina Square situated directly opposite of Astons Steak and Salad.

GEO: Grand Grill Restaurant

Image
Awesome dinner by the lake, but horrible dessert... Here's a post on the last dinner that my BFF and I had before leaving Georgia the next day. Strategically located in the vicinity of the beautiful Ardagani Lake in Batumi, Grand Grill Restaurant provides an unparalleled view of the lake all day long, as well as the Black Sea during the day.

GEO: Mimino

Image
Are you tempted by cottage cheese with butter and garlic? Named after a famous Soviet comedy movie, Mimino is decorated with scenes of the movie. Opened at the end of June 2013, it's one out of the four eateries at Piazza Batumi, specialising in Georgian cuisine.

GEO: Retro

Image
What are 'lobiani' and 'kubdari'? Our first dinner in Batumi, Georgia was at Retro. It's said to be one of the places to sample Georgian bread dishes. Given that my BFF and I'd had enough cholesterol from Bar-Restaurant Palaty in Kutaisi, we decided to try something else than  acharuli khachapuri , the national dish of Georgia.

GEO: Sky Tower Hotel [Breakfast]

Image
Where cooked food items are dominated by eggs~ My BFF and I stayed at Sky Tower Hotel (5*) in the lovely city of Batumi, Georgia. Even though we spent two nights there, we only had one chance to sample the buffet breakfast as we had to leave the hotel early in the morning on our last day in the former Soviet Union country.

GEO: Hotel Old Town [Breakfast]

Image
A sweet carrot dish for breakfast, anyone? For our quick visit to Kutaisi, Georgia that lasted less than 24 hours, my BFF and I stayed at Hotel Old Town (3*). We found the breakfast, while not served buffet style, was generously prepared as can be seen in the picture below.

GEO: Bar-Restaurant Palaty

Image
How does tarragon cream sauce on beef sound to you? Similar to the situation in Gori, my BFF and I had one and only one opportunity for a proper meal in Kutaisi, Georgia. We had only one place in mind, which had been decided during our trip planning stage. That's Bar-Restaurant Palaty, which is possibly the best restaurant in the city according to many.

GEO: Barbarestan

Image
Mouth-watering duck fillet consumed by royalty in the past! A restaurant in Tbilisi that I'd highly recommend to everyone is Barbarestan. That's where my BFF and I spent our last evening in the capital city of Georgia. Boasting remarkable dishes from a recipe book written by Barbare Jorjadze, a Georgian princess in the 19th century, the stunning restaurant is a hit among foreign visitors and locals alike.
