Hello! Why Cliff(y), you ask? Well, a lot of people I've met since primary school till now have always called me Cliffy! Unless specifically mentioned, I personally paid for whatever chargeable stuff featured in my blogs. Anyway, for every 50 posts I come up with, and every 25,000 pageviews, I'm donating a sum of money to the World Food Programme. Your support is greatly appreciated.

TRY: SkyTeam Lounge @ Istanbul Ataturk Airport

Best item: Asian style fried noodle!

It was hard to say goodbye to my sister. There wasn't any teary moments, but we eventually parted ways as I walked to the immigration control area, ready to leave the country. Given that my BFF and I'd be travelling in the Business Class of Saudia, we were able to make use of the chic, yet small SkyTeam Lounge before flying off.

We had a quiet brunch inside the lounge.

Lentil Soup

I recall that the lentil soup was lukewarm, to which I sprinkled a bit of cayenne pepper. It was thick enough for my liking, but without much character. The breadstick was quite hard.

Assorted Stuff #1

From the variety of cold dishes offered, I enjoyed the quinoa mixed with tomato paste the most. The chickpeas tossed with rosemary and olive oil were good too. The rest of the items were pretty much acceptable, but the shredded carrots were too dehydrated.

Assorted Stuff #2

The most appetising item on the plate was the Asian style fried noodle with a nice balance of flavours, followed by the sautéed vegetables. The lasagna was tasty, although the outer layer was dry. On the other hand, the penne wasn't al dente and the tomato sauce wasn't sweet at all.

Fruits & Yogurt

For dessert, we had strawberry yogurt and two types of cakes. The one on the left wasn't that moist, while the one on the right featured marshmallow dipped in chocolate.

Beverages

Pulpy orange juice or Minute Maid, anyone? The latter is sold under the Cappy brand in Turkey, as well as Central Europe. Meanwhile, the cappuccino from the coffee machine was kinda thin.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 6.5/10
Ambience: 8/10
Overall: 7.5/10

Including both of us, There were about ten guests that afternoon, thus the atmosphere was peaceful. Pika's advice: Not related to food and drinks, but you may want to pay a visit to the washroom first before entering the lounge as there isn't any inside.
