NLD: Café AMOI

Image
The most expensive 'lemper' I've ever had in my life! :P I'd always been wanting to try Indonesian cuisine in the Netherlands. There are so many restaurants to choose from in Amsterdam, but I eventually decided on Café AMOI. It's a trendy eatery that serves not only authentic Indonesian food, but also an array of interesting beverages.

NLD: De Blauwe Hollander

'Stamppot' with a huge meatball! It felt good to be back in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. For lunch, my BFF and I were headed to De Blauwe Hollander (lit. The Blue Dutchman) that has been around since 1979. The name of the restaurant refers to the marines in blue uniforms who were sent to Indonesia and Suriname as permanent representatives of the country.

POL: Specjaly Regionalne

How does fermented rye sound to you? Situated along the bustling Nowy Swiat Street lined with restaurants, bars and high-end shops is Specjaly Regionalne, a restaurant that prides itself in whipping up a variety of traditional dishes from different parts of Poland. My BFF and I made my way there to have our last dinner before flying off early in the morning the next day.

POL: Czerwony Wieprz

Image
Wild boar recipe by the first president of Yugoslavia! The full name of this highly rated restaurant is Oberza Pod Czerwonym Wieprzem, which literally means 'The Inn Under the Red Hog'. It's a recreation of the place in the same area that was around since the 19th century till World War II, which used to be frequented by communist leaders, such as Lenin.

POL: Metropol Hotel [Breakfast]

Image
More than satisfying cold cuts and scrambled eggs! My BFF and I stayed at Metropol Hotel (3*) in Warsaw, Poland, which is situated at a busy intersection not far from the famed Palace of Culture and Science. It's also within walking distance from Centrum metro station. I must say that the spread of the breakfast buffet is pretty decent.

POL: Youmiko Vegan Sushi

Image
Amazingly tasty tomato sushi! As my BFF and I had a late lunch at Zapiecek , we were looking for something rather simple for dinner. We decided on Youmiko Vegan Sushi near Metropol Hotel where we stayed at. I doubt I'd ever had the vegan version of the Japanese delicacy. Given the good reviews online, I was all the more interested to try.

POL: Zapiecek

Sweet or savoury Polish dumplings for you? Polish enjoy many varieties of pierogi , which are local dumplings. Zapiecek, which has got a number of branches in the capital city of Warsaw, perhaps can give you a good introduction to the Eastern European dumplings. My BFF and I dropped by the more prominent branch at the Old Warsaw.

FIN: Norra AY1141 (Business)

Quark sailing on a potato boat~ It was only the start of the trip, but I'd been eating so much. I know I'm pretty much a glutton, but don't judge, alright? On the intra-Schengen flight from Helsinki, Finland to Warsaw, Poland, I had another round of breakfast in the Business Class cabin of Norra, Finnair's regional subsidiary.

FIN: Finnair Lounge @ Vantaa Airport (Schengen Area)

Image
Ever tried Karelian pasty, the national dish of Finland? Here's the very first post on Finland! After wandering about the Schengen area of Vantaa Airport, my BFF and I went to Finnair Lounge that's situated near Gate 22 while waiting for our next flight to Warsaw, Poland. Breakfast is served daily at the lounge from 6.00am to 10.30am.

FIN: Finnair AY132 (Business)

Surprisingly good Indonesian-inspired main course! I didn't intend to visit Finland at first, but I chanced upon a pretty good deal on Finnair, the flag carrier of the Land of a Thousand Lakes. One thing about Finnair is that each meal is served on one tray instead of course by course in the Business Class cabin.

SIN: Qantas Lounge @ Changi Airport T1

Image
Free flow lamingtons, anyone? Are you ready for another series of overseas food adventure? It all began with my BFF and me going to Changi Airport early to have dinner at the spacious Qantas Lounge. I didn't fly with Qantas, but my Finnair Business Class ticket granted me access to the lounge, thanks to the Oneworld alliance.

SIN: Gado & Grill [Delivery]

Image
A marriage between Indomie Mi Goreng and 'gado gado' sauce~ Gado & Grill, an Indonesian eatery at One Raffles Place, caught my attention a few days ago, although I didn't order anything at that point of time. Given that I could get the food delivered to my house, I decided to have something from there for dinner yesterday.
