Mud tart in the form of a potted plant!

Ignited by enthusiasm in sweet stuff, the people behind fArt tArtz believe in offering no-bake cakes and muffins that are both healthy and tasty. Its original branch is at Singapore Expo, but I visited the branch at Chinatown. The café also serves savoury dishes should you choose to have a complete meal.

I think there's an obvious reference to art and tart in 'tArtz', but why 'fArt'?

Grilled Hot Wings S$8.50
Taste: 7/10

My dinner began with an appetiser dish of six honey-glazed chicken wings that were served on a bed of fresh lettuce and garnished with cherry tomatoes. The mid-joints topped with herbs and chili flakes actually tasted pretty good, but they were served lukewarm.

Lemony Garlic Prawn Pasta S$14.90
Taste: 7.5/10

Served in a glass jar was linguine tossed with olive oil, unsalted butter, lemon juice and minced garlic. Topped with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes, the pasta was executed well. There weren't a lot of prawns, but they were quite succulent. A small serving of salad was given with the main course.

Pulled Duckie M&C S$15.90
Taste: 7.5/10

The macaroni and cheese topped with bacon bits and herbs was more than decent too. Baked with three types of cheese, the macaroni was mixed with an adequate amount of pulled smoked duck and sautéed mushrooms. Similar to the linguine, it was accompanied by a side salad.

Cookie Butter Mud Tart S$5.50
Taste: 8/10

I had a hard time choosing the flavour of the mud tart at the end of the meal, but eventually went with cookie butter. The dessert pots come with various artificial flowers of different colours.

It was good that the dessert was neither too heavy nor overly sweet. Beneath the Oreo crumbs lied the buttery tart that pretty much melted in the mouth, but it didn't make me feel too guilty for indulging in it.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 7/10
Service: 7/10
Overall: 7/10

Since it's located near home, I shall drop by again soon to try other dessert items. Pika's advice: You may want to consider flatbread burgers as some people mention that they're good.
