MAS: China Ramen Stall @ Taste of Asia, Berjaya Times Square
Full-bodied beef noodle soup!
Yet another simple review of the day... Basically I was overwhelmed by the dining choices available in the tall and wide Berjaya Times Square shopping mall. I gave up looking at the directory, and went straight to the Taste of Asia food court which apparently offers a mind-boggling variety of food with its 28 stalls. At first, I didn't know how that I was supposed to go to the front counter to get a prepaid card to pay for the meals until the auntie explained it, in Chinese (thank God, it was understandable).
Soup Noodle with Braised Beef RM 6.80 (~S$2.80)
Taste: 8.5/10
The hand-made noodle was nicely springy, and it was accompanied by tender bits of beef. The soup was really tasty with clean, natural sweetness of the beef that made it good to the last drop. Each bowl of noodle was served with crunchy pickled cabbage and the popular Sichuan style of hot chili oil which, when added to the noodle, completed the assembly of a great lunch.
Herbal Chicken Soup Noodle RM 6.80 (~S$2.80)
Taste: 6.5/10
Being a fan of herbal chicken, I got another bowl which, sad to say, didn't live to my expectation. The soup was kinda insipid, and the herbal aroma was way too diluted. However, I had to admit that the noodle was really good, the chunks of chicken were pretty tasty and the wolfberries were sweet.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Pika's advice: You can request for the thickness of the hand-made noodle! Just tell the person when you're ordering a bowl (or two).
