CHN: Laurel Restaurant

Crispy roasted pigeon, and presumably the goose as well! We're back! Before embarking on the reviews on a few eateries in Macau and the Philippines, let's go back to Shenzhen and Guangzhou first. This is gonna be another review on dim sum , so please bear with me haha... Many people have mentioned that whenever you come to Shenzhen, you should try the dim sum  at Laurel Restaurant which is known to be Shenzhen's best Cantonese restaurant chain.

CHN: Mellow Orange Hotel [Breakfast]

Acceptable buffet breakfast, but no oranges! :P I stayed only one night in Shenzhen, and Mellow Orange Hotel (3*) was my choice. It's located not very far away from Fanshen metro station. It's cheap, and it offers free LAN internet access.

CHN: Modern Toilet Restaurant

Paradoxical food-and-bathroom combo just for fun! I just came back from Shenzhen and Guangzhou yesterday, and I actually have another mid-term exam tomorrow afternoon, but I guess I'm going to write this 'fun' review. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Modern Toilet Restaurant branch in HK is no longer available, right? This is exactly the reason why I went all the way to Dongmen Food Street in Shenzhen.

Not a single visit to Japan without 'ekiben'! A portmanteau of eki (lit. station) and bento (Japanese meal box), ekiben  has long been an icon of Japanese culinary culture. I know the meal boxes are served at room temperature, but I'm always drawn to them, thanks in part to their exquisite presentation. My family bought some from Ekiben Tabi Bento situated within Kyoto station to savour them for lunch, not inside a train, but in the comfort of our hotel room.
