SIN: I'm Kim Korean BBQ

Image
Affordable Korean BBQ buffet with a good spread! Located at School of the Arts near Dhoby Ghaut, Bencoolen and Bras Basah MRT stations, I'm Kim Korean BBQ has been a popular go-to spot for affordable Korean BBQ buffet since its establishment in 2014. Don't forget to grab at least one friend as the restaurant requires a minimum of two paying diners.

SIN: GOPIZZA

Image
Yummy pizza, but too sweet a spaghetti dish... Born as a food truck store in Seoul's Yeouido Night Goblin Market in 2016, GOPIZZA rapidly expanded to 30 pop-up stores at top department stores across South Korea within half a year. Today, it has surpassed 100 outlets in four countries. I found myself compelled to try its offerings when I was at Suntec City Mall.

SIN: Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa [Breakfast]

Image
Quite a huge spread for breakfast, but... I had the opportunity to stay at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa (5*) before the COVID-19 pandemic kicked in. The hotel has been approved for staycation during Singapore's Phase 2 of Reopening, but it's definitely not offering self-service buffet breakfast for the time being. Let's have a look at the spread back then during my staycation on Labour Day.

SKR: Asiana Business Class Lounge (Central) @ Incheon International Airport

Image
Deliciously crispy Korean fried chicken! After a short hop from Osaka, Japan with Asiana Airlines OZ111 , my BFFs and I had slightly less than 3 hours of transit at Incheon International Airport in South Korea. Before flying with OZ761 in the Business Class to Jakarta, Indonesia, we spent some time at one of the lounges to relax and have a quick bite.

SIN: 4Fingers [Delivery]

Image
Kimslaw = kimchi + coleslaw! 4Fingers is a chain of fast food eateries specialising in Asian style fried chicken. It only came to my attention not long ago that it's actually locally owned by a Singaporean called Vijay Sethu. Founded in 2009, 4Fingers has made its way to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and the USA.

SIN: Alter Ego

Image
Eat clean or indulge dirty? "Surrender or control? Embrace your alter ego." The interesting dining concept at Esplanade Mall not only serves healthy poke bowls from its opening time till 9.00pm, but also whips up sinful dishes from 3.00pm onwards daily. I was there for lunch, deciding to try the poke bowls.

SIN: Simply Wrapps

Image
Five different choices of tortillas for your wraps! Simply Wrapps is one of my favourite DIY wrap stores, although I've never actually DIY since I always go for the fixed creations. Boasting a selection of 5 tortillas, 50 nutritious ingredients and 18 house dressings to choose from, it's the first  Halal -certified salad chains in Singapore.

SIN: The Cup [Delivery]

Image
"Korean homemade food in stylish food cups" The Cup at PoMo aims to provide quick Korean dishes, promising fresh ingredients and lower calories. Most of the items, except those soupy ones, come in typical white-coloured Chinese takeaway boxes commonly seen in Western countries, which bear the logo of the eatery.

SIN: One Place Bistro & Bar

Image
"Where good food and people meet" Tucked in Jalan Kayu somewhere in the northeastern part of the little red dot, perhaps unfamiliar to many, is a chill-out spot with nett prices for all its food and drinks. It's located a short walking distance from Thanggam LRT Station.

SIN: Twins Korean Restaurant

Image
I couldn't stop popping the soy and lemon chicken chunks into my mouth! Eid Mubarak to our Muslim friends! Today's post is on Korean cuisine. As you might've probably guessed from the name, Twins Korean Restaurant is run by twins, Park Sung Jae and Park Woo Jae. The former specialises in deep-fried items, while the latter focuses more on grilling and stir-frying.

CAM: Treasure Oasis Hotel [Breakfast]

Image
Free-flow of delicious, heart-warming fish congee! A relatively new player in the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia, I stayed at Treasure Oasis Hotel (4*) due to the good reviews seen online, even though it's situated just a little bit outside the city centre. The availability of swimming pool and gym is another reason why I chose the hotel for my 4D3N stay.

SIN: Chir Chir

Image
Truly aromatic oven-roasted chicken, thanks to garlic and cinnamon! Many people have been raving about Chir Chir, which apparently is South Korea's largest chain of restaurants that's famous for its interesting chicken dishes. Yes, it was only recently that I finally decided to give it a try. Don't judge! :P

SIN: Oppa Chicken [Delivery]

Image
Good garlic stuff: honey garlic chicken and garlic fried rice! With so many Korean fried chicken joints around the island, one is certainly spoilt for choice. While I'm not so crazy about those seasoned chicken, I suppose it won't harm trying once in a while. Not far from my house is Oppa Chicken, which has just turned a year old at the point of writing.

SIN: Masizzim

Image
Heart-warming signature stew with oh-so-tender pork ribs! Not that this post is about local cuisine, but Happy National Day! I hope everyone has been having a great week so far. I'm currently down with a bit of flu, but that isn't going to stop me from venturing for food. In fact, today's dinner has made me feel healthier, thanks to the hearty stew that I had.

FJI: Grace Road Kitchen

Image
Amazing Korean sweet and sour chicken in Nadi! I learnt about Grace Road Kitchen from the advertisement in the Fiji Airways magazine. The Korean restaurant is run by Grace Road Group Limited, a South Korean church-based foundation set up in the Pacific. I didn't take note of the address, but happened to come across it while wandering around Nadi Downtown.

SIN: Oh Neul Han Jeom

Image
Delectably chewy jap chae, but insipid ginseng chicken soup... Decked in a rustic wooden setting, Oh Neul Han Jeom serves a range of authentic Korean food. Situated along the row of shophouses of Telok Ayer Street, it's within less than 10 minutes walk from the MRT station that shares the same name with the street.

SIN: nomVnom

Image
Vegan burgers with international flavours! Do you know the difference between vegan and vegetarian diet? Some of my ex-students used to think that both terms are interchangeable, while others thought that the former would refer the person, while the latter would be used to describe a lifestyle or a dish without meat. nomVnom is a vegan - not vegetarian - fast-food eatery within a stone's throw away from Telok Ayer MRT station.

SIN: Boss BarBQ {CLOSED}

Image
Overrated BBQ chicken? UPDATE (11/08/2016):  The restaurant has closed down. It's been a while since I last dined at a Korean eatery. Boss BarBQ is said to be the largest chain of BBQ restaurants in South Korea, and apparently the branch here at Clarke Quay is the very first overseas branch. Combining a restaurant and a bar under one roof, diners can choose to whether have a full meal or chill by ordering some snacks and drinks (or both).

SIN: Just Acia

Image
D.I.Y. root beer float! ^^ Today's review is on an eatery which is close to where I'm staying at the moment. Having one branch tucked in the NUS School of Medicine, Just Acia offers a rendition of traditional and fusion Asian cuisine. Note that all set meals include free flow beverages and ice cream.

HKG: Butter Cuttle Stall @ Avenue of Stars {CLOSED}

Image
Who can resist the alluring aroma of the cuttlefish? UPDATE (03/07/2016):  The stall has closed down. Ah, the Avenue of Stars... It's the place for you (or rather, for me) to have fun racing with your friends to find the names of celebrities of the HK film industry (Andy Lau being my mom's favourite) during the day and to enjoy the night breeze, as well as the glorious HK skyline after nightfall.
