UGA: Endiro Coffee

Image
"Brewing a Better World!" Endiro is a Lugandan word that refers to a place where family and friends gather for meal and conversation. Since its founding in 2011, Endiro Coffee in Uganda has not only served food and beverages to its customers, but also supported a wide array of compassionate causes and transformation projects aimed at creating a better world.

UGA: St. Anthony's Restaurant

Image
Where locals go for 'luwombo' and 'matooke'! There doesn't seem to be many big restaurants, if at all, serving authentic local cuisine in Kampala, Uganda. I recall having a hard time finding one when doing my research before the trip. Thankfully, I came across St. Anthony's Restaurant from Google Maps, one such eatery that doesn't actually have written menu.

UGA: The Lawns Wild Game and Barbecue Restaurant

Trying kudu and crocodile meat for the first time ever! Located close to Uganda Golf Club in Kampala, The Lawns Wild Game and Barbecue Restaurant considers itself to be a fine dining restaurant that serves international cuisine. Unusual ingredients that you can find there include crocodile, kudu, blesbok, springbok and wildebeest meat.

UGA: Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

Image
Fried fish caught from the lake with nice dry rub! My BFF and I had the opportunity to visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which is located somewhere in Lake Victoria. We booked a day trip inclusive of lunch at the island with African Adventure Travellers. Due to the rain earlier, our late arrival at the island caused us to have a late lunch at around 3.30pm.

UGA: Café Javas

Image
Split Decision Curry for someone indecisive! For our first meal in Kampala, Uganda, my BFF and I were headed to one of the branches of Café Javas, which boasts more than 300 dishes and beverages. There are more than a handful of branches in the country, as well as two others in Nairobi, Kenya at the point of writing.

MLI: African Grill

Image
Have you tried couscous made of fermented cassava before? We've come to the last post on Bamako, Mali, and most likely there won't be any more in the future. Before leaving for another African country, my BFF and I had our last meal at African Grill during lunch time. It's a no-frills eatery located within the premise of National Museum of Mali.

MLI: Restaurant Azalai

Image
Trying two Malian and two Senegalese main courses! "You went to Mali? Are you crazy?" was the question that many people raised in disbelief. Yes, I did, dragging my BFF along. Our time in the Western African country was short, and twice we actually had dinner at Restaurant Azalai inside Azalai Grand Hotel (4*) where we were staying at.

CUR: Zambezi Restaurant

Image
A slice of Africa in Curaçao~ My BFF and I had the opportunity to visit Curaçao Ostrich Farm, which is one of the biggest of such farms outside of Africa. At the end of the tour, we had lunch at the on-site restaurant named after one of the longest river in Africa. Have you ever had ostrich meat before?
