Cliff(y) Goes Dining

Not wow-ed by its beef burgers though... Born in Germany, Hans im Glück (lit. Hans in Luck) is a burger chain named after a fairytale recorded by the Brothers Grimm. Known for its forest-inspired decor, the outlets create a cozy, rustic atmosphere. Here in Singapore, it's been rebranded as SERVUS German Burger Grill and it can be found at VivoCity.

"The last sausage kiosk before the equator" A German sausage stall in the heart of Chinatown - sounds cool enough? As one walks past the stall, one will see the chef in his uniform, whipping up various sausage dishes to curious customers. I'm not sure how true is the tagline though. 

Dine like an emperor with beef soup, crispy potatoes and creamed spinach!  UPDATE (15/10/2018):  The restaurant has closed down. Kaiserhaus is a glamorous restaurant inside the Capitol Theatre, offering a plethora of Eastern European dishes. It promises "an exquisite dining menu fit for an Emperor" with culinary delights from the former Habsburg Empire.

Get your all-year-round Oktoberfest platter here! :P As a big fan of RPG since young, the first thing that came to mind when I first saw a restaurant named Ambush in 2005 was such an attack in the Final Fantasy series. I'm really wondering why Stanley Ng, the founder of the restaurant, chose that name.

Authentic flavours from 12 different cities in the world! Tonight's review is a special one on the jamboree of the 2nd World Street Food Congress by Makansutra , boasting a total of 23 stalls from 12 cities, held here in Singapore from 8 to 12 April 2015. After missing the first one in 2013, I made it a point to go to Bugis just now, no matter how long the queues would be. Here are the dishes I tried in chronological order.

Mouth-watering lamb shank with mashed potatoes! UPDATE (18/07/2018):  The restaurant has moved to  50 Prinsep Street. February is finally here, and that means this blog is gonna turn two years old very soon! I really feel that I can only update on Sunday for now since life has been so hectic that I need to borrow a cat's paw (a literal translation of the Japanese idiom: 猫の手も借りたい). Anyway, today's review is on a bistro cum bar "with great food amidst the jungle".
