MFM: Regency Hotel [Breakfast]

Image
Hard-boiled, salted and century eggs to go with porridge! You may ask, "Why Macau again?" Truth be told, I just discovered that I'd been keeping this post as a draft without publishing it earlier, so much for being careless. Regency Hotel (5*) isn't located at the city centre, but it's a quiet hotel nestled in three acres of greenery on Taipa Island.

MFM: Portuguesa Porto Exterior @ Venetian Macau Food Court

Image
Creamy, curry-like baked chicken! Time really flies; it's the last day of January, and this is the last review of the month. Even though it wasn't my first time walking past the food court, last month saw my virgin experience dining under the artificial sky of the enormous resort hotel. Out of so many food options to choose from, my siblings and I went for Portuguesa Porto Exterior, serving Portuguese cuisine.

MFM: Wong Chi Kei (黃枝記)

Image
Famous shrimp roe noodle with addictively sweet broth! To add to the list of Macau eateries in this blog, I tried to do a research before arriving at the destination. I had previously overlooked the fact that Macau is pretty famous with its noodle with shrimp roe, and many food bloggers point out the existence of Wong Chi Kei, an eatery that is conveniently located at the iconic Largo Do Senado, or Senate Square.

MFM: Choi Heong Yuen Bakery @ Cotai Water Jet (咀香園餅家@金光飛航)

Free upgrade = free snacks! Some people argue that a trip to HK wouldn't be complete without visiting the other Special Administrative Region of China, which is Macau. Previously, I had never booked seats online with the ferry company, but I did for my family last month. To our delight, we were given a free upgrade to the Cotai First seat each.

MFM: Grand Waldo Hotel [Breakfast]

Image
Fluffy omelette for breakfast! UPDATE (5/4/2015): The hotel has been bought over by Galaxy Macau, and is no longer in operation. Little is known what happens to the building at the moment. Grand Waldo Hotel (5*) is more or less a self-contained hotel, located within walking distance from the famous Galaxy Macau. It has its own casino; good for those of you who prefer to play in a quieter, more relaxing atmosphere.

MFM: Quick Rich Meals @ Tastes of Asia, Galaxy Macau

Image
Choose from five different stalls! My friend and I purchased our ferry tickets to Macau from a travel agency in HK, and included was a Quick Rich Meals coupon for each ticket which can be redeemed for a set meal from some of the stalls in Tastes of Asia food court at Galaxy Macau.

MFM: Restaurante Fernando

Image
Charcoal-grilled chicken goodness! When you only have 2D1N to spend in Macau, perhaps you won't even think of going to Coloane, the southern-most island in Macau. However, I purposely spent some time the other day to find Fernando's to try its famous charcoal-grilled chicken. Oh, the restaurant is conveniently located near Hac Sa Beach.

MFM: Lord Stow's Bakery

Image
The most famous egg tarts in Macau! This shall be the last review of the week as we're going to Bangkok tomorrow! Ready for the most famous  pastéis de nata  (Portuguese egg tarts) in Macau? Andrew Stow hails from England, opening his first bakery on Coloane Island in late 1980s.

MFM: Margaret's Café e Nata

Image
Macau's 2nd most famous egg tarts! I believe almost all visitors in Macau would like to have a bite on the ever-popular pastéis de nata  (Portuguese egg tarts), and of course, myself included. By the way, Margaret is an ex-wife of the famous Lord Stow of Coloane who is the king of egg tarts in Macau. I'll talk more about Lord Stow's Bakery in the coming review!

MFM: Café Ou Mun

Image
3Cs: creamy, cheesy codfish! Located near Largo do Senado , the famous square in Macau which symbolises the power of the Portuguese in the past, is a small café offering a repertoire of Portuguese food. I got to know about the café just a few days before I left for Macau when I was browsing the Internet. A lot of people gave thumbs up for the food offered in the café.
