SIN: Otto's Deli Fresh

Marriage between Russian beef stroganoff and Italian fettuccine~ Happy New Year! Here's hoping that 2019 will bring renewed joy and hope for everyone. To kickstart the year, I shall write about a place that's not only a delicatessen, but also a casual dining restaurant owned by a Swiss-born chef named Otto Weibel who used to whip up dishes at famous hotels in Singapore and HK.

BEL: Hampton by Hilton Minsk City Centre [Restaurant]

A place for a quick Belarusian fare, though mediocre... We're down to the last post on Belarusian cuisine for the time being. After a very filling lunch at Kamyanitsa , my BFF and I went for something light for our last dinner in the country at the hotel where we were staying at. The restaurant offers a small selection of local cuisine.

BEL: Kamyanitsa (Камяница)

Image
Passable main courses, but decadent honey 'pie'! Fancy dining in a setting that looks like a castle underground? Serving classic Belarusian dishes and something from the days gone by when Belarus was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Kamyanitsa is committed to using environmentally sustainable ingredients.

BEL: Gurman (Гурман)

Image
Made myself warm with hot butter rum~ Gurman is a restaurant-cum-café serving local and international dishes, as well as a variety of drinks. There are two branches: one near Nemiga metro station and the other not far from the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre. My BFF and I dropped by the latter for lunch.

BEL: Kuchmeister (Кухмістр)

Image
Would you like a taste of 'winged boar'? As one of the most highly rated restaurants in Minsk, Belarus, Kuchmeister offers delectable local and Lithuanian cuisine in a lovely setting. Finding the restaurant shouldn't be difficult as it's located across the Tank Monument near Aliaksandraŭski Garden Square.

BEL: Vasilki (Васількі)

Virgin experience with the national dish of Belarus! Welcome to the first instalment of our food adventure in Minsk, Belarus! Arriving at the country without really knowing how to read Belarusian or Russian, my BFF and I were glad that we found a restaurant with English menu at Galileo Mall near Minsk Railway Station.

HKG: Canteen II @ HKUST [Breakfast]

Image
HK style breakfast set before flying off... :/ Although there are more food places that one can find in HKUST, Canteen II shall be the last one I'm going to write. Frankly speaking, the two breakfast sets shown below were those my friend and I ate before we left for the airport to return to the little red dot.

HKG: Ivan the Kozak

Image
Bursting with butter! Make a guess? I'm gonna tell you a secret: I tend to succumb to the charm of neon signs. Located in a small alley in the Central - Mid-Level Escalator vicinity, Ivan the Kozak has been serving a wide array of Russian and Ukrainian dishes since 2001. Well, despite the suggestive reference, I didn't drink at all when I first visited the restaurant haha...
