JPN: Sai Dining (彩ダイニング)

My first taste of the heavenly Kobe beef! A delicacy prized for its flavour and fatty, well-marbled texture, Kobe beef comes from Japanese Black cattle of the Tajima strain. It's considered one of the top three types of Japanese beef, along with Matsusaka and Omi beef. It was at Sai Dining where I had my virgin experience with the meat, which was grilled and flambéed before my eyes.

Where you can get a view of the elephants, especially during feeding time! Have you been to Kobe Oji Zoo in Japan? Though a bit dated, it's an amazing zoo where my BFFs and I stayed longer than we thought we'd be. Before leaving, we had a late lunch at 3.00pm at Bao Bao, a self-service family restaurant. As we got ourselves a window seat, we could observe the nearby elephants being fed while we gobbled our meal.

JPN: Yoshinoya (𠮷野家)

Better than the ones here in Singapore! :P First opened at Nihonbashi fish market in Tokyo, Japan in 1899, Yoshinoya is one of the biggest chain of beef bowl restaurants, second only to Sukiya . Since 1975, it has expanded its business overseas with the USA as its first target. After visiting Sukiya and Matsuya  numerous times in Japan, I finally decided to try Yoshinoya for the first time last year in Kobe.

Stuff yourself silly at Kobe's Chinatown! Hi, everyone! After an intense period of work due to the current COVID-19 situation, I'm finally able to update my blog once again. Let's stay home and stay safe together. In today's post, let's look at Nankinmachi, a compact Chinatown in Kobe, Japan jam-packed with lots of food options. My BFFs and I had street food from the various stalls there for lunch.

Say yes to free-flow almond pudding! Hotel Sunroute Sopra Kobe (3*), the last hotel where my BFFs and I stayed at in Japan in December 2019, is located near Boeki Centre train station in the city renowned for its high quality beef. No, the hotel doesn't serve beef for breakfast, but prides itself in dishing out healthy items for its guests to enjoy.
