QAT: Al Mourjan Business Lounge @ Hamad International Airport

Image
Truly delicious vegetable 'korma' to go with long-grain rice! Describing itself as a lounge that offers "surroundings that rival those of any 5* hotel", Qatar Airways' flagship Business Class lounge is where I spent my 8-hour layover at Hamad International Airport. Overall, I was impressed by the quality of food and beverages served.

QAT: Al Jasra Traditional Food

Image
'Harees' - a newfound love! On our last day in Doha, Qatar, my BFF and I finally had local cuisine before flying off to somewhere in Africa. Al Jasra Traditional Food, which is tucked away in a contrastingly quiet alley at the bustling Souq Waqif, is an unassuming eatery run by five entrepreneurial middle-aged ladies.

QAT: Al Adhamiyah Iraqi Restaurant

Image
Grilled fish with super acidic lemon sauce at the side! Besides trying Yemeni cuisine at Bandar Aden Restaurant , my BFF and I also took the chance to try Iraqi cuisine at Al Adhamiyah Iraqi Restaurant in Doha, Qatar since we may not be able to visit the country anytime soon. The name of the restaurant is taken from one of the administrative districts in Baghdad, the capital city of Iraq.

QAT: Tea Time

Image
Having a quick lunch, not tea time at Tea Time~ If you're looking for a place to have a piece of cake and tea, you can only get the latter at Tea Time. It's actually a brand of fast food eateries that has been around since 2002, offering quite a huge variety of burgers and sandwiches. I dropped by the conspicuous branch at Souq Waqif for lunch.

QAT: Chapati & Karak

Image
Sweet and/or savoury 'chapati' for you? If you're looking for a place to grab a bite, a drink or both while exploring Katara Cultural Village in Doha, Qatar, look no further than Chapati & Karak. It's a renowned café serving, well, chapati (Indian unleavened flatbread) and karak chai , which is milk tea infused with spices.

QAT: Shater Abbas

Image
A trusted brand for Persian food in Qatar! Shater Abbas is a local chain of eateries specialising in Iranian and contemporary Gulf cuisine. Having stood the test of time since 1998, there are at least ten branches at the point of writing. I dropped by the restaurant at the luxurious artificial island named The Pearl-Qatar for lunch.

QAT: The Royal Riviera Hotel [Breakfast]

Image
Virgin experience with 'za'atar'! For our stay in Doha, Qatar, my BFF and I booked a room at The Royal Riviera Hotel (4*) that didn't come with buffet breakfast. On one of the days, we decided to give it a try, paying  QAR 50.00  (~ S$18.55)  each. Read further to see whether it was worth the money.

QAT: Bandar Aden Restaurant

Image
First time having Yemeni cuisine! Going to war-torn Yemen for leisure is out of the question at the moment, though I'm really praying for peace to return to the country soon. I had the opportunity to try Yemeni cuisine at Bandar Aden Restaurant, which is situated within the Souq Waqif area in Doha, Qatar.
