IDN: Dino Bistro @ Nirwana Gardens

A decent, but plain-looking asparagus risotto... For an eclectic selection of Eastern and Western dishes, Dino Bistro at the Nirwana Resort Hotel lobby may be an eatery to consider while staying at the resort. It's mentioned in the website that there's a live acoustic performance in the evening to complete your dining experience.

Delightful, albeit expensive, Javanese style fried noodle!  I found myself back at Nirwana Gardens Resort in Bintan, Indonesia for another quick getaway after slightly less than two years. I stayed in one of the cabanas at Nirwana Beach Club, whereas this year, I stayed at Nirwana Resort Hotel. Let's check out what they've got to offer at The Poolside.

How did the fusion 'rendang' burger taste? Before taking the scheduled shuttle bus back to the ferry terminal, we decided to check out the resort centre, where visitors can engage themselves in various activities, such as bowling and archery. In contrast to the pleasantly cloudy weather on the first day, the second day was marked with an oppressively hot one. Upon arriving at an eatery called Makan Makan, we were slightly let down by the fact that there wasn't air-conditioning in operation.

Nice blueberry danish in a wide selection of cakes and pastry! I started my first day of Chinese New Year waking up at 5.00am to go to the beach, seeing the last remnants the twinkling stars before the sun rose from the east. My BFF and I were the first people to break the overnight fast after strolling around the hotel area to enjoy the morning breeze.

Springy deep-fried crayfish with butter, but crispy chicken...? Easily the most packed restaurant within Nirwana Gardens, The Kelong Seafood Restaurant is built on stilts, facing the South China Sea. As we forgot to make a reservation earlier, we had no choice but to wait for a table to be vacant, which resulted in us drinking at Calypso Floating Bar before dinner.

Can Bintan Sling beat Singapore Sling? Time seemed to slow down a little bit on our first day at Bintan Island, Indonesia. After enjoying the rejuvenating sea breeze and the soothing sound of waves, we made our way to Calypso Floating Bar, which is located next to a popular seafood restaurant that I'm going to review next. We were just in time for a quick drink before dinner, enjoying the magnificent view of sunset.

A drink with a deep emerald colour? Happy Chinese New Year! At the beginning of the long weekend, we took the time to go to Bintan Island, Indonesia for a 2D1N getaway. We stayed in the rustic Nirwana Beach Club within the Nirwana Gardens Resort.
