MMR: Business Alliance Hotel [Breakfast]

Something like 'laksa bangka' in Yangon, Myanmar! Business Alliance Hotel (3*) is a small hotel located near the most revered Shwedagon Pagoda. It's exactly due to its proximity to the iconic gilded stupa that I decided to book a room there for my very first trip to country's largest city with a population of over five million.

MMR: 999 Shan Noodle Shop

The cheapest dinner with proper seating I've ever had overseas! Located along the 34th street of downtown Yangon, Myanmar is a humble noodle shop of the Shan ethnicity. It's a clean place with a nicely framed New York Times article hung on its wall, recommending none other than this hole-in-the-wall eatery that offers a wide variety of noodle dishes.

MMR: The Strand Café @ Strand Hotel

Burmese high tea with awesome banana cake! Facing the Yangon River is Strand Hotel (5*), a Victorian-style accommodation which building has been around since 1901. It's well-known for its afternoon tea, priced at US$17.00 (~S$23.20) per set, among tourists visiting the city.

MMR: Monsoon Restaurant

A taste of Mohinga - Myanmar's national dish! It's time for us to continue with our food journey in Yangon, Myanmar. After having a lot of fun at the zoo and another landmark that I'm going to talk about at the end of the review, we took a cab to the downtown. Alas, the sweltering heat thwarted us from walking around, thus we arrived at Monsoon Restaurant before 12 noon.

MMR: Feel Myanmar Food

You don't just drink tea in Myanmar; you eat it too! March holiday is coming to an end, and that means I shall get back to work tomorrow. It's been pretty much a restful break for me, having the chance to go for a 3D2N trip to another new destination for the year: Yangon, Myanmar. Yeah, today marks the inception of two new labels: {Myanmar - MMR} and Burmese! Our first dinner was at Feel Myanmar Food, a budget eatery that is highly recommended by many for an introduction to authentic Burmese cuisine.
