TRY: Urkmez Hotel [Breakfast]

Delicious homemade cheese spread to go with French toast! In Selcuk, Turkey, my BFF and I stayed for one night at a small, but cosy inn called Urkmez Hotel (no star). It's written on the Internet that the buffet breakfast is served at its topmost floor daily, offering a panoramic view of the town. The inn is manned by friendly and polite staff who'll make you feel at home.

TRY: Mehmet & Alibaba Kebab House

Messy, but appetising Turkish scrambled eggs! September is here! To be honest, I really want to sing "Wake Me Up When September Ends" due to the hectic schedule I'm having at the moment, but I suppose I shall look forward to Pikachu and my birthday this month. Back in Selcuk, Turkey, after having lots of fun exploring Ephesus, it was time for dinner at the well-known Mehmet & Alibaba Kebab House.

TRY: St. John Café

Anyone up for a dish of Swiss rosti in Selcuk, Turkey? I can't believe I've been physically down for five days and have yet to fully recover. I've just managed to access my Blogger account again, and realised that this post should see light instead of being cooped up as a draft. Anyway, after approximately an hour flight from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to Izmir Adnan Menderes on Atlas Global , my BFF and I took the free shuttle bus provided by the airline to Selcuk, a small town in close proximity to the ancient city of Ephesus. We visited St. John's Café before going to the first inn we'd booked earlier.

Not a single visit to Japan without 'ekiben'! A portmanteau of eki (lit. station) and bento (Japanese meal box), ekiben  has long been an icon of Japanese culinary culture. I know the meal boxes are served at room temperature, but I'm always drawn to them, thanks in part to their exquisite presentation. My family bought some from Ekiben Tabi Bento situated within Kyoto station to savour them for lunch, not inside a train, but in the comfort of our hotel room.
