SXM: Sunset Bar and Grill

Virgin experience with Johnny cakes, though probably not the usual ones! After leaving South America, my BFF and I were back in the Caribbean. We had a few hours of layover at Sint Maarten, a Dutch overseas territory that's famous for its Maho Beach that's very close to the runway of Princess Juliana International Airport. We had brunch at Sunset Bar and Grill.

Supposed to have breakfast onboard, but had dinner instead! I was supposed to fly from Melbourne, Australia to Manila, the Philippines in the morning on Philippine Airlines PR210. However, the flight was delayed by more than 10 hours and eventually operated under the flight number PR5210 with the in-flight service consisting of dinner, followed by snacks.

Delicious Indonesian 'nasi uduk' with chili prawns! The middle of this year saw me doing a long-haul flight in the Premium Economy Class cabin of Singapore Airlines' Airbus 350-900 aircraft for the first time. In fact, it was also my first time flying directly to Istanbul, Turkey from Singapore. In general, I enjoyed the two meal services: supper and breakfast.

Medium-rare filet mignon done right! There's always a quiet sense of anticipation when it comes to Business Class meals, isn't it? For the 8-hour journey with Philippine Airlines PR211 from the capital city to Sydney, Australia, two meals are served: supper and breakfast. It was my first long-haul flight with flag carrier of the Pearl of the Orient Seas.
