CAM: The Sugar Palm

Image
Tasty stir-fried squid slices with green Kampot peppercorns! Our last meal in Siem Reap, Cambodia was at The Sugar Palm. Owned by Chef Kethana who escaped the country during the troubled times of the late 1970s and has since returned to revive traditional Khmer cooking skills, the restaurant serves delicious homely food.

CAM: Lucky Burger

Guess what that purplish sauce on the burger was? :P After eating snacks here and there in the late afternoon, my BFF and I weren't too hungry. As such, we decided to have a simple meal at the local burger joint inside Lucky Mall. Since we were there in December, we decided to try the limited edition Christmas burger.

CAM: Khmer Kitchen

Such a refreshing fish soup that perked me up! If you're looking for a nice Cambodian meal that won't burn a hole in your wallet, you should place Khmer Kitchen on your radar. Used to be a hole-in-the-wall eatery, the restaurant has since grown in business, serving unpretentious local fare near the ever-happening Pub Street.

CAM: Café Indochine

Image
Served in a colonial building, Khmer cuisine fit for royalty? Known as one of the longest running restaurants in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Café Indochine is housed in a colonial building. It's said to focus on "romantic dining with a focus on Royal Khmer cuisine", although I wasn't having a romantic dinner since I was with my BFF. Haha...

CAM: Khmer Village Restaurant

Addictive peanuts, but 0/10 for dessert... :( My BFF and I dedicated one day to explore the massive Angkor Archaeological Park where the world's largest religious monument is standing on. For lunch, our tuk-tuk driver brought us to Khmer Village Restaurant situated within the park itself.

CAM: Treasure Oasis Hotel [Breakfast]

Image
Free-flow of delicious, heart-warming fish congee! A relatively new player in the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia, I stayed at Treasure Oasis Hotel (4*) due to the good reviews seen online, even though it's situated just a little bit outside the city centre. The availability of swimming pool and gym is another reason why I chose the hotel for my 4D3N stay.

CAM: The Red Piano Restaurant

Famous pork cordon bleu and Tomb Raider cocktail! I found myself back in Cambodia, albeit in a different city of Siem Reap, exactly one week after the end of the Overseas Community Involvement Project trip to Phnom Penh. For our first day dinner, my BFF and I patronised one of the well-known restaurants that's located at the bustling Pub Street.
