It's been almost 5 months since I graduated from NUS. Recalling the happy memories that are etched forever in my mind, I couldn't help but miss school life. Today, it's time to review the food I tried at SUN Asian Bistro which offers Asian and Western cuisines. However, I haven't given any of the Western selections a try.
Thai Thousand Island Chicken S$14.90
Taste: 8/10
If you're wondering where's the Thai element in this particular dish, I don't have the answer myself. The somewhat juicy and crispy chicken chunks were covered in Thousand Island sauce which was just a little bit spicy and not overly rich. Don't you think it'd be great if there were sesame seeds sprinkled over the dish?
XO Fried Rice S$7.90
Taste: 7/10
The fried rice tasted alright with three medium-sized prawns which were pretty succulent. It could definitely be fluffier.
Seafood Hor Fun S$6.90
Taste: 7/10
Swimming with a few prawns, fish slices and squid, the hor fun (Chinese flat rice noodle) was adequately chewy. The gravy could be packed with more flavours though, but I enjoyed the thickness of it.
Zha Jiang Noodle S$6.90
Taste: 6/10
First bite proved that the noodle was more like spaghetti. The topping of ground pork stir-fried salty fermented soybean paste was lacklustre, for it was lacking in sweetness and the amount of ground pork was kinda pitiable.

Taste: 7/10
Ambience: 8.5/10Service: 7.5/10
Overall: 7.5/10
Perhaps I may be interested to try the Western food the next time around. However, probably I'd go for the ever mouth-watering Indonesian Panggang. Pika's advice: Flash your NUS student or staff card to enjoy 10% discount!
