JPN: First Kitchen (ファーストキッチン)
Burger, fries, salad and pasta under one roof!
I'll go crazy whenever I see that avocado is being used in a dish. The herb-laden, al dente pasta was pretty aromatic and garlicky. It was a delight to have succulent shrimps thrown in as well.
Finally, the time to head for Kansai International Airport had come. Before entering and spending a night at the comfortable KIX Airport Lounge, my BFFs and I decided to have supper first. First Kitchen is a fast food restaurant chain which has been around since 1977. To differentiate itself from its business competitors, it has been expanding its menu to include dishes not typically found in fast food joints, like Italian pasta. Note that there's no English menu available.
Seafood and Avocado Linguine (海老とアボカドのジェノベーゼ) ¥680 (~S$8.45)

Soybean Milk Clam Chowder (豆乳クラムチャウダー) - Drinks Set
¥550 (~S$6.85)
Taste: 8/10
I'm not particularly a fan of soybean milk, perhaps due to the incidence of drinking one with a super raw taste when I was young. Despite that, I tried the dairy-free clam chowder, and it didn't have any of that raw taste that I abhor. It could definitely have more clams though. My drink of hot cocoa was heart-warming and adequately sweet.
Cheese, Bacon and Egg Burger - Salad Set ¥730 (~S$10.50)
Cheese, Bacon and Egg Burger (チーズベーコンエッグバーガ) - Taste: 8/10
Caesar Salad (ベーコンと温泉卵の シーザーサラダ) - Taste: 8/10
The size of the hamburger wasn't bad at all, and neither was the filling disappointing. The beef patty and the bacon were pretty juicy, while the egg wasn't overcooked. The burger bun could be softer though. The vegetables in the salad were fresh and crisp, blending with wonderful companions of bacon slices, half-boiled egg and homemade mayonnaise.
Salmon and Mushroom Fettuccine Soup - Fries Set ¥1,040 (~S$11.40)
Fettuccine Soup (塩麹サーモンときのこスープ仕立て) - Taste: 8/10
Triple Cheese Fries (3種の贅沢チーズポテト) - Taste: 9/10
The flat and thick pasta was slightly less al dente than the linguine, and the soup could be more flavourful. Both the salmon meat and the mushrooms were pretty fresh. I especially enjoyed the fries which were super cheesy and crispy without being greasy. Flavoured fries are, in fact, their specialty. My BFF's hot coffee was somewhat strong.

Pika's advice: Give the newly introduced chicken consommé fries (プレミアムチキン コンソメポテト) a try!
