SIN: McDonald's {FIFA World Cup 2014}
Beef burger that's similar to Burger King's... :P
Since today marks the start of the FIFA World Cup 2014, I shall take a break from writing reviews of HK eateries in order to write about the limited edition items offered by McDonald's in Singapore. Are you ready, guys?
Whether it's the beef burger or its chicken counterpart, you can get each of them at S$6.00 a la carte. Unfortunately, the latter wasn't impressive at all. Think of McSpicy without any fiery sensation at all; the chicken patty could be juicier and more crispy. The sweet chili lime sauce only had a slight hint of lime. Besides that, some parts of the bun were slightly hard.
Overall: 7/10

Beef Picante Burger Meal S$8.35
Beef Picante Burger - Taste: 7/10
French Fries - Taste: 7.5/10
Fiesta Lime McFizz - Taste: 8/10
I'll talk about the burger below as I'm going to include a close-up picture of it. Each of the shoestring fries I had wasn't soggy, but most could be crispier. The fizzy drink, albeit having an artificial lime flavour, was pretty refreshing and adequately sweet. However, due to the small diameter of the straw, the nata de coco bits got stuck very easily. That was annoying.
I really enjoyed the beefy taste of the patty which was accentuated by the turkey bacon strips on top of it. However, the patty was a bit dry, and the bacon strips weren't crunchy. The smoky sauce was delectably sweet, standing in contrast against the slightly salty melted cheese. Fresher lettuce would be welcomed.
Chicken Caramba Burger S$6.00

Copa Banana Pie S$1.00)
Taste: 8.5/10
The fact that the website says "an all-time favourite returns" means that the banana pie had been served previously, but I was unaware of it. The crunchy pie crust gave way to semi-liquid banana filling which was sweet and aromatic, complete with small bits of the fruit.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 6.5/10Overall: 7/10
Pika's advice: You may also want to try their Samba Spicy Drumlets which are marinated with chili, bell pepper and cumin!
