SIN: Myra's @ The Stadium

Where North Indian and Mexican dishes coexist harmoniously~

Can you imagine stuffing yourself with North Indian and Mexican food under one roof. Well, you don't have to. Simply head down to Myra's at either East Coast Park (Myra's Beach Club) or Kallang Wave (Myra's @ The Stadium). I chanced upon the latter while taking a stroll around the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Nachos Supremo (Chicken) S$15.18
Taste: 8/10

It was my first time seeing a price ending with 18 cents in a restaurant. Regardless of that, the crispy nachos topped with chicken, tomatoes, jalapenos, olives, melted cheese and guacamole (Mexican avocado dip) didn't go wrong as an appetiser dish. It could feed more than two people for sure.

Tiger Prawns Quesadilla S$23.80
Taste: 9/10

Another Mexican dish that was ordered that night was the flour tortilla that was presented nicely, along with a small serving of salad, on the plate. While the existence of tiger prawns was questionable, the dish pretty much blew my mind.

Inside the thin, crispy flatbread were juicy shrimps that were full of natural sweetness, blending nicely with the savoury, sticky cheese. I wasn't too sure if it was worth the wait though. I'll elaborate more later.

Mutton Rogan Josh S$18.80
Taste: 7/10

From the North Indian kitchen, the hot mutton curry that originated from Kashmir was put into the acid test. While the level of spiciness was tolerable and the thickness of the curry was good enough, the chunks of mutton didn't quite shine as they weren't as succulent as what I'd expected them to be. Pika's advice: Not into Basmati rice? You can opt for naan (Indian leavened bread cooked in a clay oven) instead.

Impossible Cake S$8.80
Taste: 6/10

A paradox, don't you think? The cake that's said to be impossible was captured by my camera. Anyway, despite the intriguing concept of marrying flan and moist chocolate cake, it wasn't spectacular. The flan layer was just sweet and nothing else, while the chocolate portion wasn't that rich.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 7.5/10
Service: 4/10
Overall: 6/10

I'm not too sure if I'd be interested to do a second visit, especially after getting frustrated by the service. The staff were polite, but I had to remind them more than once that my Mexican main course hadn't been served yet, eventually taking more than 30 minutes to come after the appetiser plate had been cleared. Settling the bill was another issue; I seriously couldn't understand why they had to take such an interminably long time to process that one strip of paper.
