"Kara Mellisa" - a beautiful caramel brownie with sea salt!

UPDATE (31/12/2019): The branch at China Square Food Centre is no longer there, but there are  still other branches across the island.

Wednesday is gonna be over soon, and that means tomorrow is National Day celebration for each of the many of us whose second home is school. Aren't we excited? Anyway, if you're looking for a take-out meal, P.Osh can be an option. Serving a few Western dishes, as well as a selection of brownies, it currently has three branches: Dhoby Ghaut, Kovan and Telok Ayer.

Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon S$14.90
Taste: 8/10

Sitting on top of each muffin was a slice of smoked salmon that wasn't overwhelmingly salty, followed by a well-poached egg. The accompanying Hollandaise sauce was pretty creamy, but it could definitely be tangier. Rocket leaves and black pepper helped to enhance the overall aroma of the dish.

Miso Chicken with Roasted Garlic Butter S$10.00
Taste: 7.5/10

With an element of Japanese cuisine incorporated to this particular burger, the miso (Japanese fermented rice, barley and/or soybean) chicken infused with roasted garlic butter wasn't too shabby, but it wasn't as moist as I'd like it to be. There was a fried egg below the chicken. Besides that, the side salad was acceptably fresh.

Kara Mellisa Brownie S$3.80
Taste: 8.5/10

I have a soft spot for not just brownies, but also caramel. Seeing both of them combined together, topped with sea salt, made me go crazy. Every bite was oozing with chocolatey goodness, even though the caramel could be more aromatic. The sea salt did provide a good contrast to the overall sweetness, but one small part of the cake was a bit too salty.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
