HKG: Wildfire
"Spread the fun like WILDFIRE!" with semi-buffet!
Blessed Easter, everyone! In case you haven't been following us lately, we're still dealing with HK eateries. Whenever my BFF and I go to Victoria Peak, we try to dine at eateries we've never been to before. One fine afternoon, we decided to give Wildfire a try, which offers semi-buffet lunch with a choice of main course.
Let's take a look at the two main courses that we ordered before moving on to the buffet spread.
Wildfire Pita Bread and Chips HK$108.00 (~S$19.40)
Taste: 7/10
With a slightly chewy texture and a tad charred exterior, the pita bread wasn't a bad choice for lunch. Having said that, the restaurant was pretty stingy with the smoked duck breast and stuffed the pita bread with lots of iceberg lettuce instead. The homemade fries were pretty fluffy on the inside.
Risotto with Prawns HK$128.00 (~S$23.00)
Taste: 7.5/10
The risotto was an inch more substantial than the pita bread, laden with thick tomato sauce that was adequately sweet. Had it been a little sourer, it would've tantalised my taste buds further. The size of the prawns wasn't disappointing at all, but they could be more succulent for sure.
Breadsticks
Served on each table at the beginning of the meal were breadsticks according to the number of diners. They were enjoyably crispy, but kinda tasteless, thus better eaten with soup.
Soup of the Day
The mushroom cream soup was thick enough for my liking and not overly salty. The croutons weren't that crunchy to begin with though. I added some bacon bits and parmesan cheese to make it merrier.
Salad
The vegetables provided at the salad bar were pretty fresh. The onion rings, in particular, were potent. The supposedly cold spiral pasta salad wasn't that cold, which was a pity.
Dessert
The best item on the plate was the coffee jelly that had quite an intense flavour and aroma. The profiterole and the mini crème brûlée were moderately sweet, while the assorted fruits were pretty fresh.
Tea
Among coffee, tea and lychee mint tea, I went for the regular tea. It wasn't that robust in terms of flavour and aroma.

Pika's advice: The four outlets are currently offering 10% discount for self-pickup takeaway. As a bonus, here's a picture of Pikachu and Melon playing at Mount Austin Road Playground, which is a short walking distance from the main tourist area of Victoria Peak.
