Virgin experience with Australia's Blue Heaven milkshake! A trip to Victoria, Australia wouldn’t be complete without a scenic drive along the Great Ocean Road , they say. After soaking in the coastal views, our group tour made a pit stop at Apollo Bay for lunch. While exploring the options around Apollo Bay Hotel, my travel buddy and I decided on George's Restaurant for a fried seafood meal.

Not a single visit to Japan without 'ekiben'! A portmanteau of eki (lit. station) and bento (Japanese meal box), ekiben  has long been an icon of Japanese culinary culture. I know the meal boxes are served at room temperature, but I'm always drawn to them, thanks in part to their exquisite presentation. The middle of this year saw me doing a long-haul flight in the Premium Economy Class cabin of Singapore Airlines' Airbus 350-900 aircraft for the first time. In fact, it was also my first time flying directly to Istanbul, Turkey from Singapore. In general, I enjoyed the two meal services: supper and breakfast.

The cheapest dinner with proper seating I've ever had overseas! Located along the 34th street of downtown Yangon, Myanmar is a humble noodle shop of the Shan ethnicity. It's a clean place with a nicely framed New York Times article hung on its wall, recommending none other than this hole-in-the-wall eatery that offers a wide variety of noodle dishes.
