BRN: Badi'ah Hotel [Breakfast]
Nothing to rave about, save for the velvety barley congee!
My BFF and I stayed at Badi'ah Hotel (4*) for 4D3N. The hotel has got two restaurants, one of which used to be Delifrance, but it has since been replaced by Bristodeli Café. Let's take a look at what was offered on the buffet line during breakfast.

Assorted Stuff #1
I found the roasted drumstick to be pretty tasty and succulent, having a second helping of that. While the spaghetti could be more al dente, the sauce really had lots of minced meat.

Assorted Stuff #2
The cooked items were so-so. The fried rice wasn't fluffy, and neither was the fishball bouncy. The fried fish had its batter too thick for my liking, while the stir-fried vegetables were overcooked.

Assorted Stuff #3
The deep-fried dim sum items weren't bad, especially the bun filled with what I believe to be minced chicken in soy sauce. I also tried the curry potato samosa that had an enjoyably light and crispy skin.

Barley Congee
The silky smooth congee made of barley, which was mildly seasoned was a game changer. I really enjoyed its consistency and the simple toppings that came with it: salted eggs, fried shallots and spring onions.

Scrambled Eggs
I didn't quite like the scrambled eggs from the egg station as they weren't runny, bordering to the point of being dry, in fact.

Assorted Cakes
Out of the three types of cakes that I tried, the blueberry cake was the only decent one as it was somewhat moist, yet aromatic and went well with tea. The rest was dry.

Fruits
Both the watermelon and papaya slices weren't particularly fresh. The latter were surprisingly very sweet though.

Coffee & Fruit Punch
The coffee was of average strength and aroma. On the other hand, the fruit punch drink was diluted and thus not sweet at all.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 6.5/10
Ambience: 7/10
Overall: 6.5/10
While most of the food items failed to impress me, I relished the velvety barley congee. Pika's advice: Note that the barley congee may not be served every morning. Do grab it when you see it. :)
