MAS: Plaza Premium Lounge @ Kuala Lumpur International Airport
Disappointing breakfast items, but pretty good chicken rice for lunch!
As I'm holding a Priority Pass membership, thanks to one of the credit cards I'm holding, I decided to make use of it by going to the Plaza Premium Lounge at the satellite terminal of Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
I had the chance to try some of the breakfast and lunch items as I was there from around 10.00am to 11.45pm.
Assorted Stuff #1
I didn't like the sausages as the texture was a bit off and they were laden with black pepper sauce that was too sweet. What I enjoyed among all the vegetables were the cherry tomatoes as they were sweet and juicy.
Assorted Stuff #2
The fried noodle wasn't bad, except for the fact that it was only cooked with cabbages and nothing else. I had no issue with the sushi, but the wasabi (Japanese horseradish) was a bit stale.
Chicken Rice
The lunch main course turned out to be the more than decent. The rice was pretty fragrant, while the chicken was tender with delectably gelatinous skin attached to it. The chili could be spicier though.
Cheng Tng
The hot dessert soup had mostly longans and pretty crunchy snow fungus. Overall, it was mildly sweet.
Teh Tarik & Orange Juice
The teh tarik (lit. pulled tea) dispensed from the coffee machine wasn't that rich, but adequately sweet. The orange juice was pretty diluted.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 6/10
Ambience: 7/10
Overall: 6.5/10
Pika's advice: Be there for lunch after 11.00am instead of breakfast to enjoy better food. Have you made a guess where would I be going? Hint: within Southeast Asia.
