MAS: Strawberry Court Thai Restaurant

Rewarding steamboat dinner after a day of trekking!

I apologise for being tardy once again in updating my blog. Life has become busier, not mentioning that I'm going to start work full-time on Monday, 10 June. Anyway, today I'll be doing a short review on a steamboat dinner I had on the day when I completed the trek up Mt. Brinchang at Cameron Highlands. Strawberry Court Thai Restaurant is one of the restaurants in Strawberry Park Resort, the hotel I was staying in.

Steamboat Dinner (2 pax) RM 60.00 (~S$24.50)
Taste: 8/10

There were two options for the soup: chicken or tom yum (Thai spicy soup). Undecided? You can have both without additional charge like what I requested for. The former had a clean sweetness of chicken stock, while the latter was savoury enough without being tongue-burning. Pika's advice: Note that this isn't a buffet style restaurant.

Noodle, Vermicelli & Eggs

Yellow noodle and vermicelli were the two sources of carbohydrates for the night, and they were definitely enough to feed two hungry people. I could only wish they'd give more eggs. Haha...

Meat & Seafood

Chicken, fish, squid, mussels and prawns were sitting nicely on the platter. I noted that the prawns were particularly sweet, but the mussels could be fresher.

Vegetables & Others

There were lots of chye sim (Chinese mustard green) beneath a stack of oyster mushrooms, surrounded by chewy seafood cake and balls, as well as beancurd skin.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8.5/10
Ambience: 8.5/10
Service: 8.5/10
Overall: 8.5/10

It was a dinner that packed quite a punch after a tiring day of trekking without proper lunch. Having steamboat in such a cold weather was truly awesome!
