MAS: Beltif Hotel [Breakfast]

So rare to see grape cordial drink!

Beltif Hotel (3*), which provides a basic buffet breakfast for its guests, is located a few blocks away from the grand Berjaya Times Square. A walk to the entertainment district of Bukit Bintang takes approximately 15 minutes from the hotel.

Assorted Stuff

I was greeted by two different kinds of rice in the morning: nasi lemak (Malay rice dish cooked in coconut milk with pandan leaves) and fried rice. The former was slightly aromatic with surprisingly crunchy anchovies, while the latter was a bit dry. For a Western option, sort of, canned baked beans and sausages stir-fried with onions were provided.

Porridge

The lightly seasoned porridge was not bad with its not-so-thin consistency. The toppings available were salted eggs, pickled vegetables, fried shallots and soy sauce with lots of chili slices.

Bread & Curry Puffs

Only margarine and strawberry jam were available for the bread. Small-sized curry puffs filled with potato cubes made good snacks.

Watermelon

The watermelon slices were pretty juicy, but not that sweet.

Coffee & Grape Cordial Drink

I enjoyed the black coffee which packed a punch. Also, despite being artificially flavoured, the grape cordial drink was sweet and aromatic enough for me.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 6.5/10
Ambience: 7/10
Overall: 7/10

Pika's advice: Be insistent with the receptionist(s). It was unlucky that my room had quite a lot of ants crawling around, and the person I complained to was so half-hearted that she'd be better off working as a dishwasher which wouldn't require her to deal with customers. I don't think I'll ever stay in the hotel again.
