MAS: Doraemon Café @ 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo

I need Doraemon's multiplying medicine for the chocolate cake!

Having missed the '100 Years Before the Birth of Doraemon Expo' which took place in HK in 2012, I felt really sad. However, upon hearing that Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia planned to host '100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo', I made it a point to drop by no matter what. After a trip down the memory lane through seeing the gadgets being showcased, I went to the Doraemon Café. Pika's advice: If you haven't gone for the event, remember that 23 March is the last day!

Set B RM 16.80 (~S$6.50)

At the point of writing, three sets are currently being offered. I chose Set B which comprises a slice of pancake, volcano chocolate cake and a cup of cappuccino.

Pancake (Set Menu)
Taste: 7.5/10

The slice of pancake with Doraemon's face imprinted on it might look so simple that I didn't expect it to be fluffy. However, it actually had that degree of fluffiness which I wouldn't complain about. Being a bit sweet, it went well with the slightly salted butter on top of it.

Volcano Chocolate Cake (Set Menu)
Taste: 8.5/10

The highlight of the pre-dinner snack was the moist cake from which creamy and sweet chocolate sauce oozed out. Paired with vanilla ice cream, it was a delight to have, even though it'd be better if the cake were warm.

Cappuccino (Set Menu)
Taste: 7/10

The cappuccino, being just a bit creamy and bitter, was pretty much average. Even though the face of Doraemon didn't turn out to be very nice and sharp, I appreciated the effort.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 6.5/10
Overall: 7/10

I came out with all the happiness of a little kid getting up close and personal with not just one, but more than a hundred figures of his favourite character. Anyway, below is just one picture of myself posing in front of a few Doraemon statues! Gosh, my long hair...
