TRY: K. Maras Ottoman Ice Cream Kiosk
Cool, refreshing Turkish ice cream near Hagia Sophia!
It's time to talk about the food I had in Istanbul, Turkey. Let's start with something chewy, elastic and thick. These are the three adjectives that I can think to describe Turkish ice cream, known as dondurma (lit. freezing) in its country of origin. Not far from the famous Hagia Sophia is a stall serving such a delicacy of various flavours.
The lemon ice cream was refreshingly sour, but perhaps it'd be better with slightly less milk in its content.

Caramel Ice Cream ₺5.00 (~S$2.40)
Taste: 8.5/10
The first flavour, out of three, that I tried turned out to be the best. It was rich, having a nice sweet and salty balance.
Lemon Ice Cream ₺5.00 (~S$2.40)
Taste: 7.5/10

Strawberry Ice Cream ₺5.00 (~S$2.40)
Taste: 8/10
Equally zesty was the strawberry flavour with a bit of a crunch from the seeds of the fruit. It was thicker than its lemon counterpart.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
Pika's advice: Try out the other flavours as well. Also, for those who like corn on the cob, boiled or grilled, you'll find plenty of them around. Below is a picture of the ice cream stall for your reference.
