TRY: Yildizlar Restaurant

Image
Enjoying delectable seafood on a 'ship'! My sister is an avid fan of seafood. Given that she's tired of eating kebab, I decided to give her a treat at one of the many restaurants under the bustling Galata Bridge spanning the Golden Horn. At Yildizlar Restaurant with its ship-like interior, the price of each dish is clearly written on the menu.

TRY: Doy Doy Restaurant

Yummy chicken kebab dusted with pistachio crumbs! Welcome back to Istanbul, Turkey! I'd wanted to go to Doy Doy Restaurant in the Sultanahmet area a few years ago, but I didn't manage to find it on my first trip to the charming city. With the help of my sister who's studying there at the point of writing, I finally managed to drop by the restaurant with a terrace for lunch.

A place for a quick Belarusian fare, though mediocre... We're down to the last post on Belarusian cuisine for the time being. After a very filling lunch at Kamyanitsa , my BFF and I went for something light for our last dinner in the country at the hotel where we were staying at. The restaurant offers a small selection of local cuisine.

BEL: Café Balkon (кафе Балкон)

Image
'Kung Pao' Chicken that was more like General Tso Chicken~ I promise this is going to be the last review a Galileo Mall restaurant in Minsk. My BFF and I were looking forward to visit Café Balkon that serves an array of Pacific Asian cuisine. That was probably the same feeling of excitement that we had when we were about to dine at  SushiCo in Turkey.

BEL: Kamyanitsa (Камяница)

Passable main courses, but decadent honey 'pie'! Fancy dining in a setting that looks like a castle underground? Serving classic Belarusian dishes and something from the days gone by when Belarus was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Kamyanitsa is committed to using environmentally sustainable ingredients.

BEL: Pizza Tempo (Пицца Темпо)

Image
Randomly chose a barbecue pizza from the menu in Belarusian~ After a half-day trip to the town of Mir where one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Belarus is, my BFF and I found ourselves back at Galileo Mall in Minsk. We decided to take a quick break from Belarusian food by going to a pizza chain next to Vasilki .

BEL: Gurman (Гурман)

Image
Made myself warm with hot butter rum~ Gurman is a restaurant-cum-café serving local and international dishes, as well as a variety of drinks. There are two branches: one near Nemiga metro station and the other not far from the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre. My BFF and I dropped by the latter for lunch.

BEL: Hampton by Hilton Minsk City Centre [Breakfast]

Having nice strawberry danish for three days straight! My BFF and I had a hard time deciding on which hotel to stay at in Minsk, Belarus. After much deliberation, we decided to book a room at Hampton by Hilton Minsk City Centre (3*), partly thinking that the staff should be conversant in English for us to ask about stuff. Let's now take a look at the breakfast buffet spread.

BEL: Kuchmeister (Кухмістр)

Image
Would you like a taste of 'winged boar'? As one of the most highly rated restaurants in Minsk, Belarus, Kuchmeister offers delectable local and Lithuanian cuisine in a lovely setting. Finding the restaurant shouldn't be difficult as it's located across the Tank Monument near Aliaksandraŭski Garden Square.

BEL: Vasilki (Васількі)

Virgin experience with the national dish of Belarus! Welcome to the first instalment of our food adventure in Minsk, Belarus! Arriving at the country without really knowing how to read Belarusian or Russian, my BFF and I were glad that we found a restaurant with English menu at Galileo Mall near Minsk Railway Station.
