Decadent rum and raisin mille crêpe!

Probably the most famous cakery chains in Melaka, Malaysia, Nadeje has been in operation since 2006. It's well-known for its intriguing variety of mille crêpe (French cake made of many layers).

Since the place was filled to the brim, we decided to do a take away two different flavours of the mille crêpes. Melon was delighted to try both of them!

Rum and Raisin Mille Crêpe RM 9.90 (~S$3.75)
Taste: 9/10

It only took me one bite to fall in love with the rum and raisin variant. Such a meticulously prepared piece of heaven, the cake was a medley of enjoyably chewy layers and yummy cream that wasn't at all shy of its rum content. Far from being cloyingly sweet, it was studded with just a few pieces of moist raisins.

Green Tea Mille Crêpe RM 9.90 (~S$3.75)
Taste: 8/10

The natural colour of green tea was complemented by white stripes and red beans. While I'd love to have a stronger aroma of the tea, the interplay between sweet and bitter was pretty delectable. I have to mention that some of the layers at the back of this particular cake was a tad dry.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8.5/10

For its decadent mille crêpes, I won't hesitate to drop by again when I revisit Melaka in the future. Pika's advice: They also offer glazed donuts. You may want to give them a try!
