NZL: Hiakai Café

Such a hearty chicken and beef burger for lunch! Te Puia is one of Rotorua's must-visit attractions, renowned for its spectacular geothermal landscapes and the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute. Before exploring everything the site had to offer, my travel buddy and I stopped for a quick lunch at Hiakai Café, a casual open-air courtyard eatery located within Te Puia itself.

For the 8-hour journey with Philippine Airlines PR211 from the capital city to Sydney, Australia, two meals are served: supper and breakfast. It was my first long-haul flight with flag carrier of the Pearl of the Orient Seas.

NZL: Air New Zealand NZ125 (Economy)

The vegetarian option turned out to be better! After spending four nights in Auckland, it was time to head back to Melbourne. Having already had the Business Class experience on our inbound flight, we flew in Economy Class on the return journey, flying abord a narrow-body Airbus 320 that included one full meal service that we partook in as a late lunch.
