Cliff(y) Goes Dining

"BOH ada Ummph!" Literally means "BOH has Ummph!", it has been adapted as a slogan by the largest black tea manufacturer in Malaysia, founded in 1929 by J.A. Russell, a British businessman during the British colonial era. I went to the plantation located at Sungei Palas in Cameron Highlands for the view, as well as the much anticipated snack at the café.

One of the best chicken chops I've ever eaten! Big on Dutch football, Jasmine Café has been around since the 1990s. Just like how the national team is dressed in orange, the characteristic colour of the café is orange. It serves not only Western food, but also Chinese cuisine.

The only strawberry fruity scone in Cameron Highlands! On the first day in Cameron Highlands, I was trying to cover a lot of places of interests that I didn't sit down for a proper lunch. Apart from filling my stomach with snacks from day markets, I also went down to the famous The Lord's Café in Tanah Rata. It's a humble café known to bake superb scones since 2003.

Carbohydrate boost first thing in the morning in Cameron Highlands! Starting from today, I'm going to present you some of the eateries I visited when I went for a 4D3N trip to Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. Departing from Singapore at 10.30pm on a sleeper bus, I reached the destination when the sun was about to rise. The bus stopped for an hour at a town called Brinchang for the passengers to have breakfast before it brought us to the hotel.

Sesame balls with an awesome filling! :) With the end of the Bioinorganic Chemistry exam I sat for yesterday, I have finally completed my Chemistry related education in NUS, left with an English linguistics exam next week. To celebrate, I shall present you a review on one of the restaurants owned by the Tung Lok group. Let's start with a simple quiz: care to guess the filling of the sesame balls shown below? 

Chicken satay burger, anyone? UPDATE (13/09/2015):  The eatery has closed down. The last NUS exam period ever for me is around the corner. As I'm taking a short break, I shall come up with an update at least once before my first paper this coming Saturday. Fancy Indonesian cuisine with a Western twist? Head down to RS Deli, where RS stands for Rasa Sayang (lit. affection), a famous bakery based in Jakarta. Pika's advice: This is the place to get Indonesian snacks and cakes, such as kue lapis (lit. layer cake)!

Rich and creamy prawn curry! I apologise for not being able to update for the past two weeks due to the heavy schedule in this last instructional week of my undergraduate life. Before all of us start to enjoy life a little bit and prepare for the impending examinations, I shall introduce a restaurant serving Indian cuisine inside Cultural Hotel.

When salad won the battle against main course... :P Saizeriya originated from Japan, specialising in Italian and Japanese fusion dishes. It has got to be one of the cheapest restaurants you can find in a shopping mall. The first time I went to the branch in Liang Court was before I started this food blog, and I doubt I have the pictures of what I ate during the first visit haha...

My very first time with salted egg crab! UPDATE (01/10/2020):  The restaurant is still available within Resort World Sentosa, but has moved to #02-138 Festive Walk. Singapore Seafood Republic is a collaboration between four famous seafood restaurants here: Palm Beach Seafood, Tung Lok Seafood, Jumbo Seafood and The Seafood International Market & Restaurant. Nevertheless, do you know that the restaurant actually made its first foray in Tokyo, Japan in 2008?

And just one more bowl of 'arroz caldo' before I left the country! Pikachu and Melon wish our readers a Happy Easter! Have you got yourselves some chocolate eggs? :) Unfortunately, we haven't. When I was looking through my posts in the morning, to my disbelief, I found out that this review has been saved as a draft for a long time. Anyway, I spent about an hour or so in the PAL International Mabuhay Lounge before I boarded on the plane to fly back to HK.

Tiramisu with Japanese whiskey! UPDATE (20/08/2014): The eatery has moved to 28 Kandahar Street. We often hear that the Japanese are nice people. Well, it seems that the owners of the restaurant strives to be like the Japanese haha... It's written on the window of the restaurant: "We are nice people. No GST. No service charge." Anyway, I went there for the weekday Lunch Promotion (11.30am - 4.00pm). By topping up S$3.80  with any order of a main course, you'll get two side dishes and a drink to complete your meal.
