HKG: Asia Pacific Catering @ HKUST [Tea Time]
Huge and juicy soya chicken leg!
While I didn't go for tea time every single day during the exchange programme, I never failed to have one every Tuesday and Thursday after the COMP3311 (Database Management Systems) lecture which ended at 2.50pm. All the tea sets in this review came with a choice of coffee, tea, soft drink or orange juice.
Grilled Pork Chop Bun Set HK$16.00 (~S$2.65)
Taste: 7.5/10
The popular tea time menu was pretty tasty, although it was a pity that the pork chop wasn't exactly tender. It wasn't as juicy as I wished it'd be too, but thankfully the addictively sweet caramelised onions were able to make up, somehow, for the lack of the moisture in the pork chop. The bun was slightly crispy on the outside.
Mexican Hot Dog Set HK$16.00 (~S$2.65)
Taste: 7.5/10
It'd been a while since I ate hot dogs. Tucked inside the bun was the ubiquitous beef sausage covered in tomato sauce cooked with minced beef which was kinda luscious, topped with fresh tomato cubes and cheddar cheese.
Chicken Wing and Potato Salad Set HK$14.50 (~S$2.40)
Taste: 7.5/10
The chicken wing on the stick was pretty sweet due to honey which made up the marinade sauce. The potato salad was pretty creamy.
Fried Chicken Leg and Spicy Potato Wedges Set HK$18.00 (~S$3.00)
Taste: 8/10
The fried chicken leg had a pretty crispy skin, and it was surprisingly pretty moist inside. The potato wedges were only slightly spicy. Oh, a packet of Heinz's tomato sauce was given.
Soya Chicken Leg and Curry Fish Balls Set HK$18.50 (~S$3.10)
Taste: 8/10
Guys, just look at the plump chicken leg. Gorgeous! It was tender and juicy as expected. The curry fish balls were a bit spicy, although the curry flavour wasn't really there.
Coffee (Set Menu)
Taste: 7.5/10
I'm sure we've had enough of the milk tea from this particular caterer, so I'll just talk about the coffee. It was pretty strong and aromatic, but it could do with slightly less milk.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 6.5/10
Overall: 7/10
Pika's advice: Well, this isn't really an advice, but just want to tell you that the iced coffee and tea are a tad more pricey than their hot counterparts. Thanks for everything, Asia Pacific Catering! The next review will be on the next caterer, Gold Rice Bowl, from which I bought my dinner most of the time.
