SIN: Perfetto Café {CLOSED}

Good satay among the lacklustre European dishes...

UPDATE (23/01/2021): The eatery has closed down.

How many of you know that Bussorah Street in Kampong Glam was originally called Sultan Road? I've learnt about the existence of Perfetto Café, along that street from HungryGoWhere, which shows quite a high rating at the point of writing.

What do you see in the picture above? :)

Chicken Satay (10 pcs) S$11.90
Taste: 8/10

Even though the café focuses more on European cuisine, it also serves chicken satay with homemade peanut sauce. I'm not really a big fan of the satay here as it's often too sweet for my liking, but the ones served that evening were enjoyable as they were succulent without being overly sweet. Pika's advice: Note that they also sell beef satay, but not mutton.

Shrimp Baked Rice S$13.90
Taste: 5/10

A pathetic looking dish that was too small in terms of portion, the shrimp baked rice really came as a surprise to me when it reached the table. It wasn't only dry, but also had merely two fried shrimps. The cheese was somewhat enjoyably sticky though.

Rack of Lamb S$23.90
Taste: 6.5/10

For its price, the rack of lamb certainly wasn't value-for-money. Having said that, it was tender alright. The fries served at the side could be crispier, while the parmesan baguette seemed to have been brushed with butter only without the said cheese.

Single Scoop Gelato Belgium Waffle S$10.90
Taste: 7/10

I was looking forward to the waffle at the end of the meal, which turned out to be pretty light and airy. I decided on the salted caramel gelato, which wasn't thick enough to be. More than enough whipped cream was there to make the smiley face.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 6.5/10
Ambience: 7/10
Service: 7/10
Overall: 6.5/10

Perhaps it's a good place to drink for some people, but as you can already tell, I feel that the food was far from perfect.
