Filling salad set with quality meat!

As many are getting more conscious about healthy eating these days, there are lots of salad places cropping up out there. One of my most favourite stalls is Omnivore at Chevron House, which offers value-for-money Small Set with a base price of S$9.90 that includes one protein, one carbohydrate or vegetable, three toppings and one dressing.

Small Set with Chicken Breast S$9.90
Taste: 8/10

The lightly seared white meat, seasoned with enough black pepper, was tender. The spiral pasta was pretty much al dente, making a good accompaniment to the juicy broccoli, roasted capsicums and sous vide egg at the side.

Small Set with Torched Steak S$10.90
Taste: 8.5/10

For an additional S$1.00, I got the awesome torched steak that was a delight to chew due to its delicate texture. It went well with barley rice, aloe vera jelly and parmesan cheese. The seasoned tomatoes were juicy, but just a tad too sour for my liking.

Pictured above are the sweet and tangy honey mustard dressing that I enjoyed very much, as well as the lighter honey soy sauce that went well with either of the meat.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10

Whenever I'm around the area, I'll bring at least a packet home. Pika's advice: You may be interested to try the most expensive protein, Tuna Tataki, priced at an additional S$3.00.
