SIN: Latulle Café {CLOSED}

2-in-1 fashion shop and café!

UPDATE (26/07/2020): The café has closed down.

Hailing from Paris, France, Latulle is a marriage between a fashion store and a full-service café conceptualised by a Korean-born designer Katia Cho. After accompanying a friend of mine to shop for clothes, we decided to have the Executive Set each. At the point of writing, it's priced at S$22.00.

The set menu includes a choice of soup, a choice of main course, dessert of the day and free-flow Coca Cola. Two main courses are featured in this post.

Tangy Tomato Soup (Set Menu)
Taste: 6/10

The tomato soup was mildly sweet and sour, accompanied by a piece of soft bread brushed with a bit of butter. Pika's advice: Not a fan of tomato soup? You may want to opt for the Marvelicious Mushroom Soup instead.

Fish and Chips (Set Menu)
Taste: 7/10

The British favourite turned out to be decent, given that the dory fish was pretty much juicy. The sweet potato fries could be crispier though, while the vegetables could be more crisp.

Carbonara (Set Menu)
Taste: 6.5/10

Even though it looked pretty promising, the spaghetti dish lacked the richness that I was looking for. While there wasn't anything to complain about the pasta itself, the sauce could be thicker and more flavourful.

Dessert of the Day (Set Menu)
Taste: 7.5/10

A mini cake duo was presented to each of us for dessert. What I thought to be chendol-inspired cake, sans the green 'worms', was surprisingly quite fragrant. The chocolate cake was adequately sweet.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 6.5/10
Ambience: 7/10
Service: 7/10
Overall: 7/10

Perhaps the café fares better in sweet stuff. It sells quite a variety of them, such as brownie and muffins.
