SIN: Smokey's BBQ {MOVED}
Amazing beef brisket marinated for more than 20 hours!
UPDATE (18/07/2018): The restaurant has moved to 73 Joo Chiat Place.
The moment I stumbled upon Smokey's BBQ on the Internet, my mind immediately thought of the smoked meat I had at Smokey Bear during my trip to Cameron Highlands in Malaysia. Given some of the positive reviews I read online, I decided to bring my BFF to Joo Chiat to put the restaurant into the acid test.

The restaurant claims that its smoked specialties are prepared using wood chips imported from the USA.
Jalapeño Poppers S$9.00
Taste: 8.5/10
The appetiser dish of deep-fried peppers stuffed with cheese whetted my appetite. The outer layer was crunchy and the thickness of the coating was just nice for me. The sweetness of the tomato salsa balanced out the savoury filling that had more than enough cheese.
Baby Back Pork Ribs (Half Slab) S$25.00
Taste: 8/10
The pork ribs were undeniably meaty and tender, laden with such glistening homemade BBQ sauce that was robust. The accompanying coleslaw was enjoyably creamy and tangy with a tinge of sweetness. I felt that the fries, which were lightly seasoned with salt, could be crispier.
Beef Brisket and Chicken Leg Combo S$38.00
Taste: 8.5/10
To me, the main course that won the championship title for the evening was the beef brisket. It had that beautiful melt-in-the-mouth quality, while the white meat was fork tender. I actually didn't manage to finish the fries - not because they weren't good, but I was feeling so full from the meat.
Warm Chocolate Brownie S$8.00
Taste: 8.5/10
To avoid piling more calories into the body, we decided to share a piece of chocolate brownie sans ice cream. True to its name, it came to the table warm with quite an intense chocolatey taste.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 8.5/10
Ambience: 7.5/10
Service: 7/10
Overall: 7.5/10
It seems like they're operating another outlet at Sunset Lane at Clementi. Pika's advice: On Wednesdays, the restaurant is offering Buffalo Wings at S$1.00 per piece (order by the half dozen).
