BAH: Jasmi's
A decent fast-food eatery in Bahrain!
Jasmi's is a fast-food chain founded by Jassim Al Ameen in 1986. Born and bred in Bahrain, it plans to franchise its brand to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. At the point of writing, it has got more than twenty branches locally, as well as in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It was a pity that some of the more interesting items, such as Kofta and Roast Beef, weren't available that day. As such, we decided to share the Regular Chicken Value Meal, which is priced at BHD 1.800 (~S$6.35).
Regular Chicken Burger (Set Menu)
Taste: 7/10
There wasn't anything to rave about the burger, although it was decent for sure. The chicken patty was moderately juicy and savoury, while the lettuce wasn't bad in terms of freshness. The bun was somewhat squishy though.
Fries (Set Menu)
Taste: 8/10
I enjoyed the fries as they were served hot. I don't recall having any particular one that was soggy. Everything was quite crispy and not overly oily.
Apple Pie BHD 0.400 (~S$1.40)
Taste: 8/10
Let's see how the apple pie fared compared to the ones served by the Golden Arches.
It turned out to be appetising as the filling was adequately sweet and gooey. The pastry was fried till golden crumb, resulting in a crispy, flaky texture.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 7/10
Overall: 7/10
As there were only two other guests around, we could enjoy our meal in peace. Pika's advice: Do note that some of the value meals, including the one shown above, are priced at only BHD 1.000 (~S$3.50) on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays after 6.00pm.
