JPN: Yufuin Kotobuki Hananosho (由布院 壽花之庄) [Breakfast]
Enjoying quite a hearty breakfast before leaving Yufuin~
From the previous post on the dinner at Yufuin Kotobuki Hananosho (3*) in Yufuin, Japan, let's move on to the breakfast set included in the half board plan. While certainly not as lavish and sumptuous as the meal the previous night, it definitely wasn't too shabby.

Breakfast Set
Taste: 7.5/10
At first glance, the breakfast set looked somewhat similar to the one I had at Tenku Yubo Seikaiso in Beppu. To begin, I polished off the potato salad, cabbages and tomato drizzled with zesty wafu (lit. Japanese style) dressing.
The rice and its accompaniments were pretty much enjoyable, although once again, it was a pity that the salmon wasn't as moist as expected. On the same plate as the salmon were egg roll and mentaiko (lit. pollock roe). The best side dishes were the soft and sweet stewed radish that came with a bit of pork and the velvety chawanmushi (Japanese egg custard). The beancurd cubes were jiggly, a delight to have with ponzu (Japanese citrus-based sauce). Pika's advice: Be warned that the pickled plum can be very, very sour!
I ate the yogurt with yogurt with blueberry sauce as dessert and washed everything down with hojicha (Japanese roasted green tea).
