NZL: President Hotel Auckland [Breakfast]
Those juicy sautéed mushrooms put me in a 'fungi' good mood!
Located right in the heart of the Central Business District, President Hotel Auckland (3*) was my hotel of choice for my inaugural trip to the city, and New Zealand as a whole. The breakfast spread offered at the hotel might be very limited, but having a selection of hot items to start the day certainly made the stay feel worthwhile.
Assorted Stuff
Hot breakfast classics would always put me in a good mood. The scrambled eggs weren’t the fluffiest I’ve had, but they were light and enjoyable. I also had a hash brown and baked beans for the carbohydrates, alongside a sausage and crispy streaky bacon for that savoury fix. What stood out the most were the sautéed mushrooms as they were so bouncy, juicy and packed with more flavours than expected.
Cereal
After helping myself to more than enough of the hot items, I had a bowl of Coco Pops and oats with milk. Pika's advice: You can also find white and wholemeal bread slices at the buffet counter.
Canned Fruit Cocktail
I didn’t spot any fresh fruits, so I just took a small serving of canned fruit cocktail. It would've better if there had been some yogurt to go with it.
Coffee & Apple Juice
The hotel serves apple juice from The Homegrown Juice Co., a healthier commercial option than many other packaged juice products as it's cold-pressed and pasteurised with no added sugar and preservatives. As for the coffee that I had, it was adequately robust and fragrant.
