IDN: Rotiboy Bakeshoppe

"One is never enough... Buns to die for!"

Sorry for being tardy in updating my blog lately; there's been quite a number of stuff preventing me from even sitting in front of my laptop nowadays. Anyway, today I'm going to write a short review on Rotiboy Bakeshoppe that hails from Malaysia. The bakery has more than 50 outlets in Indonesia, but none is left  here in Singapore. :/

While the outlets in Malaysia offer a wide array of buns and pastry, those in Indonesia only offer the original bun.

Rotiboy Original Rp 7,500 (~S$1.05)
Taste: 8/10

You could immediately tell the presence of Rotiboy Bakeshoppe in a shopping mall from the signature aroma of butter and coffee along the corridor. The original bun had coffee flavoured crust and butter filling. The contrast between the strong coffee taste on the crispy crust outside and the savoury butter on the soft bun inside was really delightful. However, I do notice that they've reduced the amount of butter filling slightly nowadays. The shape of the bun is getting weird as well. Pika's advice: Usually I always bring the bun home and heat it up in an oven toaster for 5 minutes. I feel that the crust is crispier that way.

Taste: 8/10

Apparently the Indonesian website mentioned that the Buttermilk Boy, a bun with vanilla flavoured crust and buttermilk filling, is available in selected outlets in Indonesia. It's silly that they don't tell us which outlets have that though.
