SIN: Cocoa Colony

Super thick and rich 'liquid gold'!

A brand conceptualised by two Singaporean women, albeit having the first outlet in Shanghai, Cocoa Colony is the place for cocoa drink lovers. Dubbed as the 'Amazonian liquid gold', the cocoa beverages are certainly not to be missed out.

The small eatery also serves a variety of savoury items and gelato.

Tex Mex Beef Wrap S$6.80
Taste: 7/10

One of the savoury items that I tried was the wrap pretty generously filled with warm minced beef cooked with spices and melted cheese. While it could be more flavourful for my liking, I didn't find any faults with it.

Chicken and Avocado Focaccia S$7.80
Taste: 7.5/10

The chicken and avocado focaccia fared slightly better, although the iceberg lettuce used wasn't fresh. The white meat was pretty tender, going well with the creamy avocado slices.

Cocoa Colony Signature Gelato S$4.90
Taste: 8.5/10

Featuring the well-loved peanut butter with nuts and chocolate chips, the signature gelato was definitely a delight to have in such a hot weather. It was thick and rich enough for my liking, having a moderate amount of sweetness that wouldn't make your throat painful.

Cocoa 100 S$12.90
Taste: 9/10

At last, the treasure of the day was uncovered. The signature cocoa drink was no doubt heavenly, for it was as rich as I'd imagined it to be. It felt a tad too thick towards the end, but I had no problem swallowing it. A glass of water was provided anyway to help you finish the drink easier.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8/10
Ambience: 6.5/10
Overall: 7.5/10

Would you like to join me in getting another cup of liquid gold? Pika's advice: If you like Baileys Irish Cream on top of cocoa, perhaps you may want to try their concoction of that.
