CAM: Rose Emerald Hotel [Breakfast]
A good cup (or two) of coffee with buttery aroma every morning~
I stayed at Rose Emerald Hotel (3*), which is located 1.1 km away from Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, during the Overseas Community Involvement Project trip. The restaurant is located on the 11th floor where one can enjoy the view of the city while having breakfast.
Assorted Stuff #1
The noodle was pretty flavourful, while the fried rice was decent without being too oily. The sausages were chewy alright, while the onion rings were pretty crispy. I remember stuffing myself with vegetables and lots of sunny-side up eggs, some of which had somewhat runny yolks.
Assorted Stuff #2
I saw pickled vegetables and salted eggs provided everyday to accompany the plain porridge. On one of the days, there were baked beans and French toast, which turned out to be a bit soggy.
Fruits
Only two kinds of fruits were offered: watermelon and dragon fruit. Both of them were pretty sweet.
Coffee & Orange Cordial Drink
The best part of the breakfast for the entire week was the coffee, which exuded a pleasant, buttery aroma. That was certainly one of the best coffee I've ever had from a 3* hotel. The orange cordial drink wasn't overly sweet.
Melon's Rating
Taste: 7/10
Ambience: 7/10
Overall: 6.5/10
Pika's advice: I'm reiterating the fact that the restaurant is on the 11th floor. Given that there's only one elevator, it should be much easier to take it from the ground floor. Shown below is a picture of me visiting a particular school in a slum area. Despite the language barrier, all of us had a good teaching and learning session.
