Too lazy to queue at Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle~
Is everyone ready for 2019? To end off this year, I shall write about Hawker Chan, which is listed under the Bib Gourmand category of the 2018 Michelin Guide. Its original stall at the nearby Chinatown Food Complex has been awarded One Michelin Star since 2016.

Soya Sauce Chicken Rice S$4.50
Taste: 8/10
I wouldn't consider its signature chicken rice dish to be exemplary, but it was nonetheless delicious. The white meat was tender, but it could be juicier. I enjoyed the gravy that had been poured over the rice due to its herbal aroma.
The chili sauce (left) was sweeter than it was spicy, while its dried shrimp counterpart (right) was hotter and more savoury.
Char Siew Noodle S$6.00
Taste: 8.5/10
I had a preference for the dark-coloured barbecued pork over the chicken as the former was succulent and delectably sweet. Besides that, the red meat had an adequate amount of fats that melted in the mouth. There was chye sim (Chinese mustard green) hidden underneath the springy noodle.
Soya Beansprouts S$4.00
Taste: 8/10
I actually wanted to order Thai Style Tofu, but since it was unavailable, I settled for stir-fried beansprouts. The side dish was executed well as the beansprouts retained its crunch without having any raw taste. It was certainly good to have those fried garlic bits that added some crunch and aroma.

Taste: 8/10
Pika's advice: You may be interested to know that the eatery also offers braised pork ribs in addition to chicken, barbecued and roasted pork.
